On every kilometer with the youth movement

In the development journey of the Youth Movement, besides the dynamic and creative youth union members, there is also a silent but equally important force - reporters and journalists who always accompany, record memorable moments and spread beautiful images of youth.

During 11 years working at Dong Nai Radio and Television Station, reporter Tran Thanh Tra Mi ( Sports and Entertainment Department) participated in hosting programs, writing news and articles about the Youth Union and Youth Movement.

Ms. Tra Mi shared that each field has its own characteristics and difficulties. To attract members and young people to participate, the activities of the Union are often organized on holidays, in the evenings, in remote areas... Therefore, journalists in charge of this field often have to work on holidays, weekends, and even travel far away.

Despite the difficulties, her passion for the movement and love for youth kept her attached to this field and she had many unforgettable memories. Those were the times when she both hosted the program and reported on the activities. To fulfill her role, she had no choice but to host the program and interview the characters at the same time.

During the 13-year journey of writing about the Youth Movement, the memories that reporter Nga Son ( Politics , Culture and Society Department, Dong Nai Newspaper) has are not only the business trips to remote areas of the province, but also the memories of participating in volunteer activities outside the province.

13 years ago, she joined a volunteer group of the Provincial Youth Union led by Mr. Truong Hai Thi, Head of the Youth and Children's Department of the Provincial Youth Union School (now Director of Dong Nai Children's House) to Kon Tum. The members of the group that year still jokingly called it "the stormy trip", because they encountered many dangerous situations on the road such as: broken cars, the whole group had to push, there was a time when the car almost fell down the pass, the car crashed into the wall of a motel, delaying the travel time of the whole group...

In addition to the “stormy trip”, she was also fortunate to participate in many meaningful business trips such as: Student Journey with the homeland’s sea and islands in Phu Quy Island (Binh Thuan Province), many volunteer trips in Kon Tum Province, 2 Pink Vacation volunteer trips in Kratie Province (Kingdom of Cambodia)...

The activities and movements of the Union become opportunities for reporters and journalists to travel and experience. According to reporter Nga Son, each time she participates in reporting and writing about the activities and movements of the Union, she has the opportunity to go to many places, meet many people and learn about different situations. That helps her to think optimistically, has more motivation to live a decent life, and be more responsible for her job.

Since working at Dong Nai Radio and Television Station, Ms. Tran Thi My Linh has been involved in the Youth Union and Children's Movement.

Ms. My Linh confided: "Following the Youth Union section, I not only get news sources and articles to serve propaganda work, but working in the Youth Union section, I also receive positive energy, the spirit of volunteerism, and dedication of young people."

Perhaps that is why in the Pink Vacation volunteer trip in Kon Tum province taking place in 2024, Ms. My Linh not only participated as a news reporter, but also, together with the volunteers, prepared each gift to send to the people and children in difficult circumstances here, contributing to building a beautiful image of young people in modern society.

According to Ms. TRAN THANH TRA MI, reporter of Dong Nai Radio and Television Station, writing about youth is not only a duty, but also a return, a responsibility to contribute to nurturing ideals for the next generation. Everyone has a youth and my luck is that part of my youth was attached to and matured with the work of the Youth Union and the Youth Movement.
