Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

The holiday season in New York City would be less exciting without the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. This parade was organized by employees of Macy's - America's leading retail brand, for the first time 98 years ago. Since then, this parade has been held every year on Thanksgiving. The procession attracts millions of participants with giant balloons of many shapes, clowns, Santa Claus and other costumed characters... bringing cheerful colors, thereby attracting tourists and increasing shopping power.

If you are a lover of classical arts, head to Lincoln Center to see the ballet “The Nutcracker,” which is presented annually by the New York City Ballet. This famous work by Russian composer Tchaikovsky, first premiered in 1892, tells the story of a little girl’s fantasy world on Christmas Eve.

Visit the American Museum of Natural History

The American Museum of Natural History in New York was founded in 1869 and is the world's largest natural history museum, comprising 28 buildings connected to 45 permanent exhibition halls, a planetarium, a library and the world's largest collection of dinosaur fossils. The museum has 5 floors displaying artifacts from dinosaur fossils to models of galaxies to introduce the world in the past and present. In particular, this Christmas season, the museum also displays a nearly 4m high Christmas tree with more than 1,000 origami decorations decorating the tree with the theme "Proboscideans on Parade", inspired by animals such as mammoths, T-Rex dinosaurs, etc.
