Thematic exhibition "Sharp pen, loyal heart" recreates the spirit and mettle of communist soldiers

On the morning of July 16, in Hanoi, the Hoa Lo Prison Relic Management Board held the opening ceremony of the thematic exhibition “Sharp pen, red heart”. This is an activity organized to celebrate the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 / July 27, 2025) and to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

The program includes an incense offering ceremony, commemorating heroes, martyrs, and patriots at the Hoa Lo Prison Relic Monument. The thematic exhibition "Sharp pen, loyal heart" includes 3 contents: In prison, "Sharp pen, loyal heart", Connecting love .

The scene recreates the story of comrade Pham Huong, a full-time cadre of the Hanoi student resistance movement during the time he was captured and imprisoned by the enemy at Hoa Lo Prison in 1949 - 1950.

The exhibition “In prison” shows the spirit and spirit of communist soldiers. Although the French colonialists applied strict regulations to prevent all cultural and spiritual activities of prisoners, the enemy could imprison the body but could not bind the patriotism and indomitable spirit of the prisoners. In a place where there were only shackles and chains, soldiers with bright minds and sharp pens still composed poems with strong faith and vitality, still sent words of encouragement to their families through letters.

Within the scope of the exhibition “Sharp pen, loyal heart”, 10 patriotic and revolutionary soldiers were introduced who used their pens to reflect the reality of life, the harshness of the prison regime and love for their homeland and country… contributing to calling on their compatriots to be steadfast and persistent in standing up to fight.

The exhibition section with the theme “Connecting Love” recreates images of the fierce war years. Letters and poems are not only a source of spiritual strength to help soldiers overcome difficulties and hardships, but also a testament to optimism and strong will.

Thematic exhibition “Sharp pen, loyal heart” is a touching story about patriotic and revolutionary soldiers who, with their talent and creativity, turned letters, poems and articles into sharp weapons, overcoming chains and moving towards freedom. The exhibition runs until August 31 at the Hoa Lo Prison Historical Site, Hanoi.
