Ho Chi Minh City cuts off water to 5 districts to maintain electrical cabinets this weekend

On November 23, Saigon Water Corporation (Sawaco) said that this weekend, water will be cut off in many places to maintain the electrical cabinet of the BOO Thu Duc water plant.

According to Sawaco, the planned time to stop pumping water into the network of the BOO Thu Duc water plant to serve the maintenance of the medium and low voltage electrical cabinet system is from 11:00 p.m. on November 11 to 2:00 a.m. on November 12.

However, at 7:00 p.m. on November 11, a fire broke out at a factory on Be Van Cam Street, Tan Kieng Ward, District 7 (the area currently using water from the BOO Thu Duc water plant).

In order not to interrupt the firefighting work in the area, BOO Thu Duc Water Plant did not stop the water supply according to the original schedule. Therefore, Sawaco announced to adjust the plan to temporarily interrupt the water supply from 11pm on November 25 to 02am on November 26.

This will cause water outage in the entire District 7 (except Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone), the entire Nha Be District, and Can Gio District. In District 8, water will be cut off in wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, and 9; in Binh Chanh District, water will be cut off in Binh Hung commune.

In addition, Thu Duc City has wards An Phu, Binh An, Binh Khanh, An Khanh, Thu Thiem, An Loi Dong, Phuoc Binh, Phuoc Long A, Phuoc Long B, Tang Nhon Phu B and the High-tech Park also had water cut off during the above time.

Weak water areas include Phong Phu commune, Binh Chanh district.

After the above period, due to special conditions, water restoration on the water supply network in some places far from the source will be slower than expected.

Sawaco directed its affiliated units to regulate the water supply network to minimize areas with interrupted water supply, and at the same time increase water supply by tanker trucks to key locations.

Water supply by tanker trucks is carried out continuously during the water outage for maintenance of medium and low voltage electrical cabinets at BOO Thu Duc water plant.
