Average network speed nationwide continues to 'peak' highest in 12 months

According to the latest statistics published by i-Speed (Vietnam Internet Center - VNNIC, Ministry of Science and Technology ), Vietnam's Internet speed in July 2025 increased sharply.

Highest Fixed Internet Speed in 12 Months

Specifically, according to records, the download and upload speeds of Vietnam's fixed broadband network recorded 258.28Mbps and 195.34 Mbps, respectively. This data also recorded the highest increase ever of Vietnam's fixed broadband network, even 2.6 times higher than the same period in 2024.

Regarding the quality of fixed broadband networks in major cities and provinces across the country, Hanoi continues to maintain its 'top position' with an average download speed of 331.41Mbps. Cities such as Hai Phong, Can Tho, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City also recorded continuously improved average speeds.

Regarding the network quality rankings among service providers, Viettel still holds the top position for the second consecutive month with average download and upload speeds of 287.09Mbps and 225.53Mbps, respectively. Surprisingly, in July 2025, CMC surpassed VNPT to rank 2nd with average upload and download speeds of 271.69Mbps and 282.99Mbps, respectively. VNPT holds the third position with speeds of 238.8Mbps and 180.95Mbps, respectively.

Next is FPT Telecom with average upload and download speeds of 125.82Mbps and 100.33Mbps respectively. Following behind are service providers including: NETNAM and SCTV.

Viettel continues to lead in mobile network speed

i-Speed statistics also show that the average speed of the 5G mobile broadband network in the country is also the highest since its official commercialization. Specifically, the average upload and download speeds reached 99.26Mbps and 447.03Mbps, respectively.

Among major cities, Da Nang continues to be the locality with the highest 5G network speed, with an average download speed of 568.49Mbps, nearly 1.5 times higher than the next city, Hai Phong (average speed of 395.17Mbps). Cities such as Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City also recorded 5G speeds continuously increasing compared to previous months.

Also according to statistics, the download and upload speeds of Viettel's 5G network reached 482.54Mbps and 105.52Mbps respectively, VNPT's were 315.21 Mbps and 52.41Mbps respectively, and MobiFone's were 211.12Mbps and 38.27Mbps.

Achieving outstanding 5G speed shows that Viettel not only has wide 5G network coverage but also optimizes network performance effectively, bringing fast and stable access experience to users in reality.

According to i-SPEED statistics, Viettel is also leading in terms of overall mobile network speed including 4G and 5G, followed by VNPT and MobiFone. Specifically, Viettel's download and upload speeds reached 98.3Mbps and 31.49Mbps respectively, while VNPT reached 72.11Mbps and 28.93Mbps respectively. MobiFone's mobile broadband network speeds reached 57.1Mbps and 23.49Mbps respectively.

Vietnam's mobile broadband network speed in July 2025 also recorded the highest level compared to the same period with an average upload speed of 83.52Mbps and an average download speed of 29.55Mbps.

According to the World's Fastest 5G Network and World's Fastest Mobile Network Q1 and Q2 reports published by Ookla - the owner of the Speedtest Internet speed measurement platform, Viettel and VinaPhone have also entered the top 3 fastest mobile networks globally.

Specifically, according to the World's Fastest Mobile Network report, Viettel ranked 3rd globally in overall mobile speed, achieving a Speed Score of 82.56, surpassing many giants such as Singtel (Singapore) and SK Telecom (Korea).

Meanwhile, according to the World's Fastest 5G Network report, VinaPhone ranked 2nd in 5G network speed, with a score of 78.11, just behind e& of the UAE - the network holding the No. 1 position globally. Ookla's ranking is based on millions of tests performed by users through the Speedtest application, calculating the Speed Score based on three factors: download speed (70%), upload speed (20%) and latency (10%)./.
