
At the ceremony, the leaders of the Central Organizing Committee announced the Politburo's Decision on appointing the new term Tay Ninh Provincial Party Executive Committee consisting of 68 members. At the same time, the key personnel decisions were announced, including: Comrade Nguyen Van Quyet, Secretary of the Long An Provincial Party Committee, was appointed by the Politburo to hold the position of new Secretary of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee.
Comrade Nguyen Van Ut, Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee, was appointed as Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee. Major General Vu Nhu Ha, Director of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police, was transferred and appointed as Director of Tay Ninh Provincial Police.
The transfer and appointment of high-level personnel is part of the roadmap for organizing and rearranging administrative units according to Resolution 35/2024/QH15 of the National Assembly, aiming to streamline the apparatus and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the political system.
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Thi Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly, said that today's announcement ceremony is an important milestone that will go down in the history of the provincial Party Committee. When Long An and Tay Ninh provinces are merged into the new Tay Ninh province, this will be a provincial-level administrative unit with a large development space in the South; a gateway to Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast provinces, with the longest border with the Kingdom of Cambodia.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh warmly commended the spirit of solidarity, consensus and great efforts that the leaders and people of Tay Ninh province have achieved throughout the process of preparing and implementing the administrative unit arrangement. Tay Ninh Province (new) was formed from the merger between Long An and Tay Ninh provinces. After the merger, the new Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee has 101 subordinate Party organizations, including 96 commune and ward Party Committees and 5 Party Committees including the Provincial Party Agencies Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee, the Provincial Military Party Committee, the Provincial Police Party Committee, and the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee.

* On the same morning, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap province also held a ceremony to announce the Resolutions and Decisions of the Central and local governments on merging provincial and commune-level administrative units, ending the operation of district-level administrative units, establishing Party organizations, and appointing Party Committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of Dong Thap province, communes, and wards.
Accordingly, comrade Le Quoc Phong was appointed by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee. Comrade Tran Tri Quang was appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee.

Tien Giang and Dong Thap provinces merged into the new Dong Thap province, with the administrative center located in My Tho. After the arrangement, Dong Thap province has a natural area of 5,938.64 km2 and a population of more than 4.37 million people. After the arrangement according to Resolution No. 1663/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Dong Thap province in 2025, Dong Thap province has 102 commune-level administrative units, including 82 communes and 20 wards.
