Tien Giang: GRDP growth in the first 6 months of 2025 reached 7.35%

Faced with difficulties and challenges caused by the world and domestic situation affecting the country's economy in general and the province in particular, with the focused leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the decisive and supervisory role of the Provincial People's Council, the drastic direction and administration of the People's Committee, the participation of the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, the business community and all classes of people in the province have focused on achieving the results of the goals and tasks of socio-economic development, national defense - security, ensuring social order and safety, the socio-economic situation of the province in the first 6 months of 2025 of Tien Giang province continued to develop stably, with many growth indicators higher than the same period in 2024.

Specifically, in terms of economic development, there are bright spots such as:

Economic growth rate (GRDP at 2010 comparative prices) increased by 7.35%). Total export turnover was 3.35 billion USD, reaching 53.2% of the plan, up 9.5% over the same period. Total state budget revenue in the area was 7,650 billion VND, reaching 72.2% of the plan, up 19.7% over the same period.

Total local budget expenditure was VND 10,699 billion, reaching 64.7% of the plan, up 37.2% over the same period. The number of newly registered enterprises was 598, reaching 65.7% of the plan, up 37.1% over the same period.

The total value of public investment disbursement was VND 2,885.7 billion, reaching 41.2% of the original plan and 36.7% of the adjusted plan, continuing to be higher than the national average.

Total social investment capital is estimated to reach VND 22,261 billion, reaching 38.8% of the plan, up 12.6% over the same period. Attracted 26 projects with a total investment capital of VND 4,929.42 billion, 12 projects registered to increase capital, the registered capital increased by VND 2,085.8 billion; total attracted investment capital reached VND 7,015.22 billion, equal to 86.8% over the same period.

Industrial production index increased by 12.5% ​​over the same period. Agricultural production was stable, agricultural products met people's needs. The service sector developed well. Total retail sales of goods and social consumer services were estimated at 47,710 billion VND, reaching 49.4% of the plan, up 11.1% over the same period.

The business development situation in the area recorded many positive signals, with 598 newly established enterprises, reaching 65.7% of the plan, up 37.1% over the same period.

Organizing the Ceremony to Announce the Prime Minister's Decision recognizing Tien Giang province as having completed the task of building new rural areas in 2024. The whole province has 135/135 new rural communes; of which, there are 73 advanced new rural communes; 19 model new rural communes; 3/3 urban areas completing the task of building new rural areas; 8/8 new rural districts, 2 advanced new rural districts.

The fields of culture, society, security and national defense continued to achieve many positive results. Specifically, well-organized activities to celebrate the Party - celebrate Spring associated with traditional Tet activities of the nation during Tet, commemorating major holidays, events of the country and locality. The education sector well performed the key tasks of the 2024 - 2025 school year.

Social security and people's health care work is implemented according to the set plan; policies to support the poor in health care, education, housing, preferential credit loans, vocational training for rural workers, etc. are integrated, implemented synchronously and promptly.

Mobilized over 70.67 billion VND; disbursed loans to 897 poor and near-poor households, with a total amount of over 50.65 billion VND. The national defense, political security and social order and safety situation in the province continued to be maintained.

Determined to successfully achieve the GRDP growth target of 8% or more in 2025; in the last 6 months of 2025, the province sets out the following key tasks:
