Frequently occupied, taxi pick-up and drop-off points are as good as non-existent.

Many drivers cannot enter taxi stops in Hanoi because private cars are blatantly occupying them.

According to information from the Hanoi Department of Transport, this unit has a plan to expand taxi stops in 12 inner-city districts. The points established must ensure safety criteria, convenience for drivers and traffic participants, reduce traffic congestion, and make it easy for people to recognize and understand how to use the locations. After the expansion, Hanoi will increase the handling of vehicles that violate the regulations. Specifically, the Department of Transport will set up a hotline with the Traffic Police and Traffic Police to handle personal vehicles parked in taxi stops as well as on routes where parking is not allowed.
