The UN Secretary-General discussed the situation and multi-dimensional challenges facing the world , expressed his wish for countries to strengthen cooperation in responding to climate change, and shared the need to reform and streamline the apparatus to improve the effectiveness of the UN's operations.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed Vietnam's strong commitment to multilateralism and international order based on international law and the United Nations Charter; emphasized that Vietnam advocates fully and seriously implementing its obligations in responding to climate change; requested the United Nations to support ASEAN's central role in the regional architecture and further promote cooperation with ASEAN; and expressed his hope that Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will come to Hanoi to attend the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention on Cybercrime in Hanoi this coming October.

Top priority in maintaining ASEAN solidarity and unity

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with ASEAN Secretary General Kao Kim Hourn.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam will work with other countries to successfully implement the ASEAN Community Vision 2045; expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Secretary-General, the Secretariat will continue to accompany and effectively support Vietnam and member countries to effectively take advantage of the benefits of the integration process.

The two sides agreed to continue to give top priority to maintaining ASEAN solidarity and unity; promoting intra-bloc trade and investment; continuing to effectively exploit new growth drivers; enhancing practical cooperation for the people; promoting sub-regional development, expanding connectivity in infrastructure, transportation, institutions and people, exploiting potential in sub-regions, remote and isolated areas, and supporting inclusive and equitable growth.

Creating a breakthrough in economic cooperation between Vietnam and India

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The two leaders expressed their delight at the strong development of the Vietnam-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; emphasizing that there is still much room for cooperation between the two sides to bring the relationship increasingly deeper, more practical and more effective.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated Malaysia’s efforts as ASEAN Chair in resolving common issues in the region; contributing to strengthening solidarity and enhancing the prestige and central role of ASEAN; hoping that the two sides will strengthen cooperation in the fields of Halal, rice trade, maritime cooperation, etc.

The Malaysian Prime Minister suggested that the two countries promote fisheries cooperation and expressed his wish to welcome Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to attend the ASEAN Summit next October.

The two sides agreed on measures to enhance cooperation, including the early approval of the Action Program to implement the Vietnam-Malaysia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for the 2025-2030 period, promoting cooperation in the fields of defense, energy, tourism, and people-to-people exchange.

Bringing Vietnam - Cambodia trade turnover to 20 billion USD

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh thanked President of the Cambodian People's Party and President of the Senate Hun Sen for attending the upcoming 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of Vietnam on September 2, demonstrating the close relationship and solidarity between Vietnam and Cambodia.

The Prime Minister suggested that the two sides continue to strengthen political trust, promote bilateral cooperation mechanisms; encourage and facilitate investment and business activities of enterprises of the two countries, strive to achieve a trade turnover of 20 billion USD in the coming time; commit to promoting transport connectivity, simplifying cross-border transportation procedures, and enhancing tourism cooperation.

The two sides agreed to accelerate the completion of the Vietnam-Cambodia land border marker planting, soon complete the Phnom Penh-Bavet expressway and inaugurate the Tan Nam-Meun Chey common border gate; and discuss regional and world issues of mutual concern.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh meets with Armenian Prime Minister

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The two Prime Ministers expressed their delight at the positive developments in bilateral relations in recent times, especially the enhanced political trust through high-level delegation exchanges from both sides, including the recent high-level meeting between General Secretary To Lam and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the occasion of attending the Francophone Summit in October 2024, the official visit to Vietnam by Armenian National Assembly Chairman Alen Shimonyan in November 2024, and most recently, the official visit to the Republic of Armenia by Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to and is ready to deepen the traditional friendship with Armenia; proposed that Armenia coordinate with other member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to soon eliminate the threshold defense mechanism for Vietnamese export goods, and suggested that Armenia promote bilateral mechanisms with Vietnam to boost economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.

The two Prime Ministers agreed on a number of measures to promote bilateral relations in the coming time, including enhancing political trust through continued exchanges of high-level and all-level delegations, promoting the annual political consultation mechanism between the two Foreign Ministries, considering visa exemption for citizens of the two countries, contributing to promoting tourism cooperation between the two countries, enhancing connections between business communities, localities, cultural exchanges and people of the two countries, and promoting cooperation in the fields of logistics, education and training.
