This is President Luong Cuong's first working trip to China as President, taking place in the context of 2025 being the year of humanistic exchange, celebrating the 75th anniversary of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations (January 18, 1950 - January 18, 2025), contributing to the development of Vietnam-China relations increasingly solid, substantive and effective.
Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu said that as a typical country in the tireless struggle for peace and justice, right after the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, President Luong Cuong's attendance at the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism demonstrates Vietnam's responsible voice and support for the efforts of the world's people for peace, security and development.
The President's working trip took place right after the visit of Chairman of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji and the delegation of the Chinese Party, State and the Chinese People's Liberation Army to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day. This demonstrates the "side-by-side" and mutual support between the two Parties and countries in the historical journey of fighting for national liberation in the past as well as in building and developing the country today.
President Luong Cuong will meet with key Chinese leaders. This is an opportunity for the two countries' leaders to continue consolidating and realizing the high-level common perception on further enhancing political trust, promoting mutually beneficial substantive cooperation in various fields between the two countries, handling disagreements, maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for the development of each country, as well as contributing to the common development of the region and the world.
Vietnam and China are two countries with great potential and strengths for cooperation. In the current political, security and economic situation in the world and the region, with many advantages and challenges intertwined, developing the relationship between the two countries and taking advantage of the strengths of economic cooperation is in line with each country's foreign policy and the general trend.
The 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism in China was attended by leaders of many countries, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, North Korean President Kim Jong-un, Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, Indonesian President Prabowo... In addition, senior representatives of major international organizations have also confirmed their attendance. In particular, 50 international guests and their relatives from 14 countries such as Russia, the US, the UK, France, Canada, etc. who directly contributed to the Chinese people's resistance war have also been invited to attend the event. The September 3 military parade in Tiananmen Square will feature a large force, modern equipment, and a large proportion of weapons being shown to the public for the first time.
