Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attends the announcement ceremony of the Central Committee's resolutions and decisions in Hai Phong City

From 8:00 a.m. on June 30, localities across the country simultaneously held the Ceremony to announce resolutions and decisions of the Central and local governments on the arrangement of administrative units at provincial and communal levels, the establishment of party organizations, and the appointment of Party committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, and Fatherland Fronts of provinces, cities, communes, wards, and special zones.

Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Prime Minister attended the ceremony to announce the resolutions and decisions of the Central and local governments in Hai Phong city. Hai Phong city organized a live television bridge to broadcast the ceremony and connected online with 114 communes, wards, and special zones for officials, civil servants, public employees, workers, and people to follow.

At the ceremony, Hai Phong announced the Central Government's resolutions and decisions on the establishment of the new Hai Phong City on the basis of arranging the entire natural area and population of Hai Phong City and Hai Duong Province; ending district-level activities, establishing communes, wards, and special zones under the new Hai Phong City; the establishment of the new Hai Phong City Party Committee; appointing the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; Inspection Committee, Chairman, Vice Chairmen of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee; Chairman, Vice Chairman, Heads of the People's Council's committees; Head, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation; Chairman, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee; and establishing the new Hai Phong City Fatherland Front Committee.

At the ceremony, resolutions and decisions of Hai Phong City related to the organization and personnel of communes, wards and new special economic zones were also announced; the Prime Minister's decision to recognize Hai Phong City for completing the task of building new rural areas in 2024 was also announced and presented.

The new Hai Phong City has a natural area of ​​3,194.72 ^km2 , a population of 4,664,124 people; has 114 commune-level administrative units, including 67 communes, 45 wards and 2 special zones.

The Politburo has decided to appoint the Hai Phong City Party Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term, consisting of 75 comrades (39 members of the Hai Phong City Party Executive Committee, 36 members of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Executive Committee).

The Politburo appointed comrade Le Tien Chau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the old Hai Phong City Party Committee, to hold the position of Secretary of the new Hai Phong City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

The Politburo appointed 4 comrades to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, including: Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Do Manh Hien (Standing Deputy Secretary of the old Hai Phong City Party Committee); Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Van Hieu (Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council, to be appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the new Hai Phong City People's Council for the 2021-2026 term); Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Ngoc Chau (Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee, to be appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term); Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Pham Van Lap (Chairman of the old Hai Phong City People's Council).

In Decision No. 1289/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister appointed comrade Le Ngoc Chau, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, to hold the position of Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

In Decision No. 1319/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister appointed the following comrades to hold the position of Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term, including:

1. Comrade Le Anh Quan, member of the Standing Committee of Hai Phong City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

2. Comrade Hoang Minh Cuong, Member of the Executive Committee of the Hai Phong City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

3. Comrade Nguyen Minh Hung, member of the Executive Committee of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

4. Comrade Tran Van Quan, member of the Executive Committee of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
