Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh: Organize the 2025 High School Graduation Exam safely, seriously, and with quality

At the Quang Nam bridgehead, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan, along with leaders of the Department of Education and Training, departments, branches, and members of the Provincial Steering Committee for the exam attended.

The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place on June 26 and 27. Candidates will take two subjects: Literature, Mathematics and an optional test of two subjects. Candidates studying under the 2006 GeneralEducation Program will take the subjects of Literature, Mathematics, foreign languages, a natural science test (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) or a social science test (History, Geography, Civic Education).

According to Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong, the 2025 High School Graduation Exam will be the first year the exam will be organized according to the 2018 General Education Program (current). The exam will continue to be decentralized, with local authorities taking the initiative in organizing the stages of the exam.

The Ministry of Education and Training also assessed that the 2025 High School Graduation Exam Regulations have many notable new points, with the difference being that they focus on assessing learners' abilities instead of assessing knowledge and skills like previous exams.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that this is a historic moment when the province and commune levels are about to merge, and the district level activities are ending, so the Government is very concerned about the organization of the exam, which must be safe, public, transparent, equal, ensuring quality and requirements; not allowing any problem to negatively impact the exam.

The exam results reflect the students' learning process after 12 years, serve as a basis for university admission, or some may learn a trade, opening up the future for students.

“The annual exam is of interest to the Prime Minister, the Government, the Ministry of Education and Training as well as the whole society. This is the job of the entire political system, to ensure that children take the exam in the best conditions to achieve high results.

"The exam is organized when there is still a 3-level government, but the time for marking the exam and announcing the exam results is the responsibility of the 2-level government. With one day, one minute, one hour left, the 3-level government must fulfill its responsibility, ensuring that the exam takes place safely, seriously, and with quality before transferring to the 2-level government," said the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister requested localities to pay attention and have many plans related to security, safety, health, response to natural disasters and floods, ensuring the most favorable conditions for invigilators, candidates, and exam organization. At the same time, promote the highest sense of responsibility so that the exam is successful, becoming a festival for all people and the whole society.
