BTO-On the morning of December 31, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the Dialogue Conference with Vietnamese farmers in 2024 with the theme: "Arousing the aspiration to get rich to develop a prosperous and happy country; confidently entering a new era". At the Government headquarters, the conference was attended by leaders of ministries, branches and 300 delegates.
At the Binh Thuan province bridge, there was the participation of Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, branches, organizations and representatives of typical farmers and cooperatives.
This year's conference took place with many new features. In addition to traditional channels such as the "Listening to farmers" column, through reports from provincial and municipal associations, the Central Vietnam Farmers' Union previously coordinated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to organize 2 "Listening to farmers speak" forums. Locally, 63 conferences were held where provincial and municipal People's Committee Chairmen had dialogues with farmers. As a result, about 2,000 questions, opinions and proposals were sent to the Government and the Prime Minister on issues related to agriculture, farmers and rural areas such as: mechanisms, policies and resources to support farmers in developing cooperatives and cooperatives, innovating production organization forms; accumulating agricultural land for large-scale production, linking regions according to value chains, building raw material areas for key agricultural products; agricultural insurance policies, credit policies for the agricultural sector, etc.
At the conference, many specific issues of each industry, field and locality were basically discussed, agreed upon and resolved by leaders of ministries and branches in an open and frank spirit.
Concluding the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the opinions, recommendations and dialogues of many businesses, cooperatives and farmers nationwide, helping the Government find solutions to remove difficulties, thereby arousing the desire of farmers to become rich. The Prime Minister affirmed: Vietnamese farmers are not only fulfilling the mission of ensuring food security for the country but are also making an important contribution to ensuring world food security, as Vietnam is affirming its advantage in exporting food to the international market.
The Prime Minister emphasized 9 important issues that need continued attention in the coming time, such as institutions, policies, planning, land, capital and insurance, markets, application of science and technology and innovation, digital transformation, digitalization of agriculture, training of high-quality human resources, etc. to promote ecological agriculture, modern countryside, and civilized farmers. At the same time, he requested local Party committees and authorities to periodically dialogue and listen to farmers, continue to promote the spirit of self-reliance, self-improvement, innovation and solidarity, unity among the entire peasant class, combine national strength and the strength of the times for development, and together with the whole country, firmly step into the new era.
The Prime Minister's Dialogue with Farmers Conference is an annual activity organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union from 2018 to present. Through 5 times of organization, many positive results have been achieved, creating momentum and motivation for farmers and cooperatives nationwide to focus on production and build an increasingly prosperous and happy country.
This year's conference is of great significance in concretizing the tasks and solutions stated in Resolution No. 46-NQ/TW of the Politburo on innovation and improving the quality of activities of the Vietnam Farmers' Union. The conference is also a practical basis to contribute to the content of the Draft Political Report to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress on the issue of agriculture, farmers and rural areas.
