Wolverhampton left-back Ait-Nouri is the first name to officially join Man City this summer. The Algerian player has spent 4 seasons playing very well for the "Wolves".
Man City must pay at least 37 million euros ($42 million) for Ait-Nouri. The deal could cost them another 6 million euros if Ait Nouri meets the criteria for future add-ons.
Right after Ait-Nouri, Man City are now preparing to announce two star midfielders, Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki, at the same time.
Reijnders is a Dutch midfielder of Malaysian origin who is currently playing for AC Milan. Two years ago, the Italian team spent 20 million euros to buy him from AZ.
Reijnders has been playing extremely well this season and has been voted Serie A's best midfielder. Man City must pay 55 million euros ($63 million) up front to buy him, plus 15 million euros in additional fees.
Meanwhile, Rayan Cherki cost Man City 35 million euros ($40 million) in current transfer fees, plus an additional 5 million euros in possible future fees.
If Reijnders is more of a midfielder, Cherki is purely an attacking star. He can play in the "number 10" position, as well as in the winger positions.
So Man City has spent 145 million USD for the 3 new players mentioned above. The transfer fee for them can increase by 27 million USD if they play well in the coming years.
Compared to previous years, this year's transfer market opened earlier, instead of July 1st, it was moved to June 1st.
More precisely, this year's transfer market will be divided into two parts, the first part includes the period from June 1 to June 10, and the second part from after June 15.
The reason for this change is so that the teams participating in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup can replenish their squads before going to the US to compete in the tournament. Man City is a typical representative.
