Teachers on duty at high school graduation exam sites to 'support' students

During the peak days of the high school graduation exam (June 25-27), many teachers from several high schools in Ho Chi Minh City volunteered to be on duty at the exam sites to support candidates and accompany their students.

On the afternoon of June 25, at the Nguyen Du Secondary School exam site (Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City), a group of teachers stood by to take attendance of students coming to complete procedures for the 2025 high school graduation exam, which warmed the hearts of parents.

After the candidates entered the exam room to hear the rules, these teachers still waited outside the school gate. Some teachers even brought backpacks to keep the candidates’ belongings and phones.

"We are like a spiritual support for students to confidently enter the exam," a teacher shared while checking the student list.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phuc, a math teacher at Tran Cao Van Secondary and High School, said that this year the school arranged 9 groups of teachers to support candidates at 9 exam locations, with about 5-7 teachers on duty at each location throughout the high school graduation exam.

"We monitor and take attendance of candidates. If we find any absent or late students, we will immediately contact them or their parents. For boarding students, the school also arranges shuttle buses to take them to the exam site," said Mr. Phuc.

Accompany students until the last minute

According to Mr. Ho Hong Phu - math teacher at Hong Ha Secondary and High School, many homeroom teachers of the school volunteered to join the "exam support team", with the desire to accompany students until the last minutes of their high school journey.

"In addition to logistical support, teachers also encourage students, remind them of test-taking skills, and disseminate regulations to students. Most importantly, teachers are familiar people and are a psychological support to help students stay calm before the exam," Mr. Phu shared.

All participating teachers have been trained in skills, have a good understanding of exam regulations and schedules, and proactively connect with parents and students through multiple channels. In case of incidents such as forgetting documents or health problems, teachers are the first to assist in handling the situation.
