Northwestern provinces develop scenarios to respond to floods during the 2025 high school graduation exam

TPO - On the morning of June 25, many Northwestern provinces organized inspections of preparations for the 2025 high school graduation exam. Given the complicated weather conditions, localities have paid special attention to responding to rain and floods during the exam period.

On June 25, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee Trinh Xuan Truong inspected preparations for the 2025 high school graduation exam in Lao Cai city and Bat Xat district.

The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee requested units and localities to closely follow the instructions and guidelines to review the preparation for the exam. The authorities need to have plans to ensure safety, security, order, traffic safety, fire prevention, and effective solutions to prevent the use of high technology to cheat in the exam.

Absolutely do not let negativity arise in the organization of the exam. The health and electricity sectors support the exam locations in terms of facilities, especially arranging medical rooms and backup generators to ensure service for the exam locations.

According to the Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, in particular, there must be plans to respond to extreme weather (rain, floods) and unusual situations. Lao Cai Province will create favorable conditions and support candidates at examination sites, so that no candidate will have to drop out of the exam due to economic difficulties, travel or other objective obstacles when taking the exam.

This year, Lao Cai province has 9,271 candidates registered to take the exam at 27 exam sites located in districts, towns and cities.

In Dien Bien, Mr. Cu Huy Hoan, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dien Bien province, said: "The transportation and handover of exam papers was organized scientifically, seriously, and in accordance with regulations. This process had close coordination between the education sector and the police force to ensure absolute safety and confidentiality."

According to Mr. Hoan, plans to ensure security and order, food safety, disease prevention, natural disasters, etc. have been fully prepared. Departments, district People's Committees and the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control have coordinated closely, ensuring smooth traffic on routes to the exam sites, and being ready to respond to situations such as floods, landslides or power outages.

Mr. Vu A Bang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam in Dien Bien province, inspected the exam paper storage area.

In addition, the youth union members continue to promote the spirit of volunteering in the program "Supporting exam season", supporting candidates in mountainous areas and ethnic minority students with accommodation, transportation, and reducing psychological pressure before important exams.

This year, Dien Bien has 7,641 candidates registered to take the high school graduation exam at 28 exam locations. There are about 1,900 officials, teachers, and support staff participating in organizing the exam.
