Agree on the plan to merge the Tourism Associations of Tay Ninh and Long An provinces

On June 25, in Tay Ninh City, the Tourism Associations of Tay Ninh and Long An provinces held a conference to discuss the merger plan, with the participation of representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tay Ninh and Long An and the Standing Committee of the Tourism Associations of the two provinces.

After listening to the report on the Association's operations and assessing the tourism potential, the Standing Committee of the Tourism Association of the two provinces proposed specific plans, discussed and voted unanimously to agree on the merger plan.

Accordingly, the two sides agreed on the policy of establishing the Tay Ninh Provincial Tourism Association on the basis of merging and consolidating the Tourism Associations of Tay Ninh and Long An provinces; agreed on the structure of the new Executive Committee of the Tay Ninh Provincial Tourism Association consisting of 46 members.

The Standing Committee has 17 members, including 1 chairman and 12 vice chairmen. Within the framework of the Conference, the Tourism Associations of the two provinces voted unanimously to nominate the new chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial Tourism Association to the project.

Speaking at the conference, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Long An province - Nguyen Thanh Thanh affirmed that the Tourism Association plays an important role in connecting individuals and businesses operating in the tourism sector, contributing to forming a unique identity for local tourism.

Through its intermediary role, the Association not only promotes linkages but also creates conditions for tourism products to be systematically developed, in accordance with the strengths of each region. He expressed his hope that, through this conference, the Tourism Associations of the two provinces will propose short-term and long-term strategies to effectively orient tourism development in Tay Ninh province in the new period.

Emphasizing the spirit of democracy, transparency, voluntariness and autonomy in the process of implementing the merger contents, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tay Ninh province - Tran Thi Huy Hoang hopes that the Tourism Associations of the two provinces will proactively develop a merger project suitable to the actual situation, ensuring consistency in content, especially the organizational structure.

In addition, it is necessary to clearly define short-term and long-term tourism development strategies, closely following the master plan of the new Tay Ninh province, in order to improve management efficiency and promote sustainable tourism development.

At the conference, members of the Tourism Associations of Tay Ninh and Long An provinces contributed many constructive ideas towards the consolidation and development of the new Tay Ninh Tourism Association.

Many delegates said that, in order to improve the effectiveness of its operations, the Association needs to have more drastic solutions in promoting regional linkages, especially between Tay Ninh and Long An - two localities with great potential to complement each other in tourism development. In particular, the construction of clear, characteristic tourism products, suitable to the advantages of each locality, is considered a key factor, aiming to form a synchronous, attractive and sustainable value chain.

The establishment of the new Tay Ninh Provincial Tourism Association marks an important turning point in the organization and development orientation of the local tourism industry, towards the goal of "Strong unity, prosperous connection".

The meeting also agreed on the contents related to the professional committees, branches, finance, facilities, secretariat and implementation progress in accordance with the draft Project. After the conference, the Standing Committees of the Associations of the two provinces will continue to edit the project and send it to the Department of Home Affairs before June 30, 2025./.
