Care for poor patients, disabled people and orphans

In recent times, with its role, the Association for Supporting Poor Patients, People with Disabilities and Orphans of Tien Giang Province (abbreviated as the Provincial Association) has made many efforts in caring for poor patients, people with disabilities and orphans.

PRACTICAL CARE ACTIVITIES

In the first 6 months of 2025, the Provincial Sponsorship Association has implemented many programs to support the care of poor patients, the disabled and orphans, with a total budget of more than 9.2 billion VND. This figure not only shows the scale of activities but also deeply reflects the spreading spirit of charity. One of the notable highlights is the program to support free heart surgery and eye surgery for the poor.

The Provincial Sponsoring Association gives gifts to students and disabled children in difficult circumstances in Tien Giang province.

According to statistics from the Provincial Sponsorship Association, 10 children with congenital heart disease have received support for surgery costs at Cho Ray Hospital ( Ho Chi Minh City), with a total cost of more than 1 billion VND. These are cases where, without timely intervention, the consequences can be very serious, even life-threatening.

Along with that, the program "Bringing light to the poor blind" has helped 215 patients with cataract surgery at Mai Duc Tho Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City), with a total cost of 258 million VND. In addition, the Provincial Sponsoring Association implemented the scholarship program "Supporting disabled and orphaned children to go to school" for the 2025-2026 school year for 240 children in difficult circumstances in the province, with a total amount of over 200 million VND. In addition to giving scholarships, the Association also donated 8 laptops, worth nearly 93 million VND to students in especially difficult circumstances.

In particular, in recent times, the branches under the Provincial Sponsorship Association have played a good role in connecting and supporting patients at medical facilities. Typically, the Tien Giang Provincial Mental Hospital Association has coordinated to mobilize 848 organizations and benefactors to visit, support meals, necessities... with a total cost of more than 2.28 billion VND. The Buddhist Association is also an active unit, carrying out many meaningful activities such as charity cooking, eye surgery, acupuncture, giving scholarships... with a total value of more than 1.3 billion VND.

In addition, branches at Cho Gao District Medical Center, Go Cong Regional General Hospital, Tien Giang Province Tuberculosis and Lung Hospital, etc. also regularly organize volunteer activities, serving meals, giving gifts, and providing cash support to thousands of patients.

LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND

Aiming at the most vulnerable groups in society, the Provincial Sponsorship Association has implemented many practical support activities to care for poor patients, people with disabilities and orphans such as donating wheelchairs, rocking chairs, supporting house repairs, giving gifts on holidays and Tet... At the same time, with the leading role of the Association, local volunteer groups have become an extended arm bringing love to each poor patient, person with disabilities, orphans and those in difficult circumstances.

Among them, Hong Lac Charity Group, Cai Be Charity Group, My Tho Group past and present... are familiar names accompanying the Provincial Sponsorship Association on the journey of sharing with difficult circumstances. Specifically, Hong Lac Charity Group spent nearly 1.3 billion VND in the first 6 months of 2025 to distribute free rice and porridge to poor patients; support house repairs, give gifts to the poor, the disabled... Cai Be Charity Group supported the repair of 5 charity houses, gave 500 Tet gifts, distributed hundreds of rice portions and gifts to patients...

As a highlight in resource connection, the “Humanitarian Address” Program implemented by the Provincial Sponsoring Association in coordination with Tien Giang Radio and Television has brought about remarkable results. In the first 6 months of 2025, 24 patients were supported through the program with a total budget of up to 848 million VND. Each introduced situation received attention and support from the community.

Chairman of the Provincial Sponsorship Association Ly Hoang Chieu said: “We clearly define our responsibility in caring for vulnerable people. The Provincial Sponsorship Association will fulfill its functions and responsibilities, and mobilize people to care for these people.

Each gift and scholarship is not only a sharing, but also an encouragement for the beneficiaries to overcome their fate and confidently rise up in life. Thereby, encouraging disadvantaged people and those in difficult circumstances to confidently continue to rise up, have a bright future and become useful people for society."

In the coming time, the Provincial Sponsorship Association will continue to promote activities to care for poor patients, people with disabilities, orphans, and those in difficult circumstances; continue to coordinate with the media to promptly propagate and commend typical examples of philanthropists and charitable and social organizations that have contributed to improving the socialization of activities to care for poor patients, people with disabilities, and orphans.
