In 2025, the Can Tho City Social Work Center (CTXH) will continue to implement a plan to provide psychological support and life skills education for children in special circumstances (HCDB). In particular, it will focus on equipping them with knowledge, educating them with skills, and gradually improving their personalities, adapting to and adapting to the trend of a developing and civilized society. At the same time, it will guide them to think positively, live optimistically, and cultivate their faith in life.

Children with disabilities participate in the occupational therapy model of making frames organized at the Center.

With the support of the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order of Can Tho City Police, the City Social Work Center has just completed the process of making ID cards for 37 children with special circumstances who are cared for and raised at the Center. After being granted ID cards, the children will have more convenience in civil transactions, access to basic social services, ensuring civil rights, social security and social justice. At the same time, through this activity, the Center will partly remove difficulties in managing and caring for children.

In response to International Children's Day June 1, the Center organized a 2-day weekend excursion for over 20 children to visit and picnic in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. The children had the opportunity to eat, play, participate in group activities, and visit some beautiful places and landscapes. This is an annual activity of the Center, aiming to create conditions for the children to gain practical experience, broaden their knowledge, vision, and optimism, as well as strengthen solidarity and group cohesion.

In April and May 2025, the Center's Counseling Department organized 2 thematic sessions on life skillseducation , with the following contents: listening skills and positive feedback; the right to be protected and loved for the HCDB children group. Through clips and images summarizing stories and specific situations, children discussed and commented on attitudes, behaviors, and gestures that demonstrate appropriate and proper communication and behavior skills in daily life... The children group learned and learned general rules of conduct; practiced how to communicate and behave with everyone.

In addition to coordinating to introduce students who want to learn a trade, the occupational therapy model of making picture frames at the Center is maintained, with 8 students currently participating. From 2023 to now, they have made over 23,350 frames. Huynh Huu Thuan shared: “We have been studying and making picture frames for over 3 years, allocating working time reasonably, prioritizing studying. Through this work, I have been trained to be diligent, careful, have a team spirit, and be responsible.”

Every year, the Counseling Department of the City Social Work Center coordinates to develop and implement the model plan "Life skills education and career guidance for children with special needs at the Center" with key activities: life skills education for children; visiting and experiencing eco-tourism areas; career counseling, vocational training. In 2024, the Center will organize specialized activities to educate life skills on rules of conduct in public places, when participating in traffic; life skills, health care, teamwork, control, self-mastery, care, service and protection; personal information management; time management and use... to help children equip themselves with knowledge, practice basic skills, create a healthy learning and playing environment. The Center focuses on connecting and organizing tourism activities, picnics, practical experiences; collective activities, art performances on holidays, Tet...

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Van, Deputy Director of the City Social Work Center, in 2025, the Center will implement the model of "Life skills education and career guidance for children with special needs" with diverse forms and practical content. Regarding content, the Center researches and designs according to integrated themes, associated with each age group to supplement advanced skills for children, such as: active listening and feedback, emotional management, conflict resolution, and prevention of psychological trauma. The Center uses technology and visual forms to organize group activities and communication (videos, slides, pictures). Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Van shared: “The center focuses on in-depth life skills education, according to age, combined with high practice and reality. The center organizes vocational counseling and career guidance according to each child's ability and interests, at each appropriate time, and guides practical career experiences. Thereby, helping children improve their physical and mental health, develop positively and healthily in a loving "common home" and strive to become useful citizens for the country in the future."
