TPO - This morning (June 26), candidates taking the 2025 High School Graduation Exam nationwide began taking the 120-minute Literature exam.

This year's exam, nationwide, nearly 1.17 million candidates registered to take the exam, of which more than 1.14 million candidates registered for Literature and 1.15 million candidates registered for Math.

According to the schedule, at exactly 7:30 this morning, the invigilator will distribute the exam papers to the candidates and at 7:35 the exam time will begin. The Literature exam has the longest time, 120 minutes.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training , as of yesterday afternoon, more than 1.16 million candidates had come to the exam site to complete exam registration procedures, listen to exam invigilators disseminate regulations, and remind them of necessary regulations before taking the exam.

Localities nationwide have arranged about 2,500 testing sites and 50,000 testing rooms. This year's exam is organized for candidates to take the exam according to two programs: the 2006 generaleducation program, called the old program, and the 2018 general education program, called the new program.

For the Literature subject, this year’s exam marks an important milestone as it is the first year of testing under the 2018 General Education Program. The exam will use materials other than textbooks to assess the candidates’ reading comprehension, thinking, and creativity. However, according to the explanation, using textbooks to create exam questions can hardly avoid this situation because there are not many works in the books.

Besides, there are still a number of candidates taking the exam according to the 2006 General Education Program. The Ministry of Education and Training has created 2 exams for 2 different groups of candidates.
