Mr. Nguyen Van Nen noted that the team of artists under the common roof of the Union has developed in both quantity and quality.

“There are artists and writers who are over 100 years old and still sit at the computer to write works for the world. That is very admirable,” Mr. Nen expressed.

However, Mr. Nen also frankly pointed out many things that have not been done, many limitations and weaknesses that have not been overcome. The quality of training and creation in some fields has tended to stagnate. Ho Chi Minh City lacks lifetime works with ideological and artistic value...

"Up to now, the city has not had institutions and facilities that are worthy of its stature in many fields. Going to other cities with large theaters, such as Hanoi's Hoan Kiem Theater, looking back at ourselves, we have not been able to do it. Or like stadiums to organize major events, the city has not ensured facilities related to culture, arts, and sports, " Mr. Nen commented.

Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai presented the emulation flag to the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Literature and Arts Associations.

The head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee also expressed sympathy and shared the difficulties and limitations mentioned in the previous report of the Union, especially the thoughts and concerns about promoting resources, awakening the potential and creativity of the artists to serve the construction and development of the city's culture and people in the context of rapid development of science, technology and multimedia communications.

Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen acknowledged that the city government must constantly improve and supplement new policies, focus on improving the quality of the state management apparatus on culture from the city to the grassroots, and encourage more freedom of creativity, first of all for intellectuals and artists. In addition, the creative team must change their thinking, thinking, methods, and surpass themselves...

"If we stubbornly cling to old things and refuse to innovate, we will never be able to fulfill our mission in the new era, " emphasized Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen.
