By June 2025, 45/63 provinces and cities nationwide will have completed the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses.

STO - On the morning of June 22, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a national online conference to listen to the report of the Central Steering Committee on the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide. According to the report, up to now, the whole country has supported the implementation of the construction and elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for 262,843 houses, of which nearly 225,000 houses have been inaugurated; about 38,000 houses have been started and are under construction, reaching over 90% of the total demand. Since the 4th meeting, an increase of nearly 54,000 houses have been started and inaugurated. It is expected that by the end of June 2025, 45/63 provinces and cities nationwide will complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for the subjects, the remaining localities are expected to complete this program in August 2025.

In Soc Trang province, the total housing support demand for people with revolutionary contributions, poor households, near-poor households and beneficiaries of housing support under the National Target Program for Socio -economic Development in Ethnic Minority Areas is 8,917 units. By the end of June 2025, the whole province had completed 100% of the plan, of which 11 districts, towns and cities completed ahead of schedule, with the total cost of the program being over 463.5 billion VND. In the coming time, Soc Trang will continue to carry out the emulation movement "joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" to better care for and support the construction of houses for poor households, people with revolutionary contributions, and martyrs' relatives to have stable housing and improve their lives.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is a major and very humane policy of the Party and State, requiring the mobilization of the entire political system, bringing important significance in many aspects, affirming "national love and compatriotism", demonstrating the responsibility, love and sharing of the whole community. 2025 is the year to celebrate major holidays and prepare for the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2, the Prime Minister requested that the remaining localities must complete the program in August 2025, with the goal of not leaving people without accommodation or living in temporary or dilapidated houses in the coming time.
