On the evening of July 20, information from the Inspectorate of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that the unit is handling violations of professional regulations that caused a serious obstetric accident at Nam Viet General Clinic Company Limited (abbreviated as Nam Viet Clinic), No. 202 To Hien Thanh, Ward 15, District 10.

According to the Health Department Inspector, at 10:00 a.m. on July 15, pregnant woman CTPN went to Nam Viet Clinic for an abortion.

After the ultrasound results diagnosed the pregnancy at about 22 weeks, the patient was kept at the clinic.

At 5:00 p.m. on July 16, the patient had an abortion performed by doctors at Nam Viet Clinic. After the abortion, the patient felt tired, had severe abdominal pain, and had a lot of vaginal bleeding. The Nam Viet Clinic staff called a taxi to take the patient to Hung Vuong Hospital.

At Hung Vuong Hospital, the CTPN patient received timely emergency care and is currently in stable health condition.

After receiving the report from Hung Vuong Hospital, the Department of Health Inspectorate immediately deployed a team to verify information at Hung Vuong Hospital and inspected the operations at Nam Viet Clinic.

"The case is being further verified and clarified by the Department of Health Inspectorate. The Department of Health Inspectorate will handle individuals and organizations that violate the law in medical examination and treatment activities, especially strictly handle facilities that operate beyond their professional scope and cause complications for patients," the Department of Health Inspectorate informed.

The Department of Health recommends that medical facilities, when receiving emergency cases due to complications after performing medical examination and treatment services at private facilities and clinics, must promptly report to the Department to ensure effective State management in the area.

The Department of Health recommends that people should research and choose reputable medical facilities before going to medical facilities for safe and effective treatment. It is recommended that people, when discovering facilities with signs of violations in the medical field, immediately report to the Department of Health or local authorities for timely handling in accordance with the law.

Earlier the same day, the Department of Health also revoked the operating license of Dinh Tien Hoang Clinic for 3 months, also for the reason that it operated beyond its permitted scope of expertise.
