Rare Javan pangolin strays into people's garden

VnExpressVnExpress24/06/2023

On June 24, Mr. Chinh, in Da Lay commune, together with the Da Teh district Forest Ranger Department, handed over the pangolin to the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Wildlife at Cat Tien National Park ( Dong Nai ) to release it into the wild.

Last night, a pangolin entered the garden, causing Mr. Chinh's dog to bark incessantly. Using a flashlight to check, he saw the animal moving, so he called everyone in the house to capture it and call the authorities.

The Javan pangolin, scientific name Manis javanica , is a wild, rare, endangered animal, so it is classified as an endangered species, strictly prohibited from hunting, trading and consuming.
