At the Chau Thanh Commune Public Administration Service Center, the Deputy Prime Minister visited people who were carrying out administrative procedures and listened to the feedback and suggestions of officials and employees working directly there. He acknowledged the efforts in maintaining stable administrative operations and ensuring attentive service to the people despite many difficulties in the process of conversion and implementation of new administrative procedures after the merger.
Working at the headquarters of the Chau Thanh Commune Party Committee, the Deputy Prime Minister listened to a general report on the organization of the government apparatus after the merger. formation, Chau Thanh Commune was established on the basis of merging Minh Luong Town, Minh Hoa Commune and Giuc Tuong Commune (former Kien Giang Province), with an area of about 107km² and a population of about 70,000 people. Of which, the Khmer people account for about 44% of the population, which is a prominent feature of the local population structure.
Currently, the commune has 49 branches and affiliated party committees with a total of 1,548 party members; 18 schools, including one high school and one boarding school for ethnic evacuation. The locality is also operating a Political Center and a Cultural - Sports - Broadcasting Center compared to the two new communes separated from the old Chau Thanh district.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long praised the solidarity and responsibility of the staff and civil servants of Chau Thanh commune in quickly stabilizing the organization and soon putting the two-level government into effective operation. He emphasized that the arrangement of administrative units is not only to streamline the apparatus, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, but also an opportunity to exploit the potential for socio-economic development, ensure national defense and security and improve the quality of service to the people.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Party Committee and the authorities of Chau Thanh commune to continue to closely follow the direction and guidance of the Central Government and the province; focus on thoroughly handling the remaining issues after the merger, especially in the fields of land and administrative procedures, to avoid causing inconvenience to the people. At the same time, difficulties and problems in the implementation process need to be fully summarized and promptly reported so that all levels can find appropriate solutions.
