Coffee vine is a native coffee variety, a specialty of people in some communes such as Thuan An, Dak Mil... Currently, this coffee variety has been linked with positive results by people, some cooperatives, and businesses.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Trang, Thuan An commune said, from the old variety, after his family replanted with the coffee vine variety, a native variety recognized by the provincial Department of Agriculture, the economic efficiency was much higher. In particular, it is possible to see the advantages of this coffee variety such as the tree is less susceptible to pests and diseases such as rust, pink fungus, anthracnose, and flowers and fruits in large quantities.

His coffee vine garden can yield about 4 - 5 tons of beans/ha, the higher yield is about 0.5 - 1 ton/ha so the economic efficiency is more stable. His family has replanted 5 out of 7 hectares of coffee.

According to Mr. Phan Ba Tinh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuan An Commune, the commune currently has over 500 hectares of certified coffee cultivation, located in a high-tech agricultural area. Most of which are grown by local people using local, specialty coffee varieties, with many outstanding advantages in both productivity and product quality.

The project to develop Vietnamese specialty coffee in the period of 2021 - 2030 aims to develop specialty coffee in Thuan An commune, with a total area of 670 hectares by 2025.

According to Mr. Tinh, the local people have promoted the production of specialty coffee varieties, bringing high efficiency, with an average yield of 3 - 4 tons/ha, nearly double that of the past. In particular, some coffee gardens after replanting and grafting have a yield of 4.5 - 5 tons/ha.

Similarly, Arabica coffee is a strong crop of people in Xuan Truong ward - Da Lat, Lang Biang ward - Da Lat and is being widely grown by functional sectors and localities in Lam Dong province.

In recent years, the functional sectors and localities in the province have promoted propaganda and mobilized people to replant coffee, using high-quality coffee varieties such as: TR4, TR9, TRS1, THA1, vine coffee, and tea coffee, bringing high productivity and increasingly high product quality...

Localities continue to advocate and encourage the establishment of more cooperatives and cooperatives linked to produce high-quality coffee such as 4C, RA, VietGAP, GlobalGAP, Faiftrade, organic... to create high-quality clean coffee products that increasingly meet consumer demand.

According to the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in recent years, the provincial leaders have paid attention to and directed the work of breeding to effectively implement the contents of the resolutions of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Council on restructuring according to the value chain and high-tech agriculture. Since then, the functional sectors and localities have tightened the inspection and control of the market to ensure that plant and animal breeds have origin, origin and quality.

The province continues to research, transfer and apply standard varieties associated with science and technology to improve productivity and product quality. At the same time, it creates favorable conditions for businesses to invest, research and produce standard plants and breeds, specialty varieties, including coffee.

The establishment of growing areas suitable for specific coffee varieties is taken into account. The province's goal is to create uniformity in varieties, care processes, products with design and quality.

By doing this, Lam Dong will create more favorable conditions for the province to build high-quality agricultural value chains and attract investment in consumption and deep processing.
