Nghe An Provincial Consumer Rights Protection Association was established under Decision No. 2347/QD-UBND dated July 6, 2007 of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee. Up to now, the association has over 7,000 members, including 15 collective branches and 16 affiliated branches.

In the first 6 months of 2025, Nghe An Provincial Consumer Protection Association has synchronously deployed professional activities, gradually affirming its role as a bridge between consumers and agencies and businesses, contributing to building a fair and transparent market for goods and services.

Based on the direction from the Central Association and the orientation of the Provincial People's Committee, the Association held a meeting of the entire Executive Committee to summarize the activities in 2024, set out the direction for 2025, and at the same time admit more individuals and groups. The Association actively coordinated with functional departments to organize many activities in response to Vietnam Consumer Rights Day, associated with the 65th anniversary of its tradition.

The Association also actively participates in training courses organized by the Department of Industry and Trade to update knowledge on artificial intelligence in business management and the Law on Consumer Protection. Actively coordinates with the Market Management Department and the Department of Science and Technology to inspect goods, food, and petroleum equipment, contributing to ensuring consumer safety.

In the past time, the Association has also received and handled complaints and feedback from Nghe An consumers. The cases were promptly verified, classified, and handled by the Association according to its authority or transferred to relevant authorities, ensuring the harmony of interests between consumers and businesses, contributing to strengthening people's trust.

Despite many positive results, consumer rights protection in Nghe An still has some limitations. The Association’s resources are still limited, affecting the expansion of propaganda, especially in remote areas. Some cases beyond its authority, related to civil disputes or construction quality, make it difficult for the Association to handle them thoroughly. Consumer awareness is still limited, many people do not know how to protect their own rights…

Speaking at the conference, members and units all agreed that consumer rights protection is increasingly important in the context of increasingly diverse and complex markets for goods and services. Many delegates highly appreciated the Association's efforts in receiving and promptly handling complaints and feedback, contributing to protecting the legitimate rights of the people and maintaining a healthy business environment.

Opinions also suggested that the Association should strengthen coordination with departments and branches, expand legal dissemination to the grassroots, focus on vulnerable groups such as the elderly, remote areas; improve the effectiveness of market supervision, promote the application of information technology to approach and support consumers more quickly and transparently.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vo Quang Tuan - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Provincial Consumer Protection Association in the past time. The Department of Industry and Trade will continue to closely coordinate with the Association in disseminating laws, handling violations, especially inspecting and monitoring the market during peak periods. It is recommended that the Association continue to promote its role as a bridge between people and businesses, contributing to building a civilized, safe and sustainable consumer environment.
