On July 18, Mr. Nguyen Duy - head of the organizing committee of the "Mo hoi mo" book festival 2025, Vinh Long province - said that 2025 is a special milestone in the journey of spreading 10 years of sustainable reading culture to the youth community of Vinh Long province (formerly Ben Tre ). The festival is organized on an expanded scale, expected to become a space connecting people and books.

This year's Book Festival is held from July 18 to 20 with the theme "From dreaminess to enlightenment - Journey to expand knowledge, discover wonders through books" at Vinh Long Cultural Center (formerly Ben Tre Province Cultural - Cinema Center), open for free from July 18.

This is the 5th time Vinh Long province has organized this festival since 2015. The book festival is organized by generations of Vinh Long students, promising to continue the spirit of spreading knowledge persistently over the past decade.

Do Ngoc Bich Khanh (Vinh Long) shared that she has liked reading books since middle school, and likes reading books about economics and business, which are the most important and reliable source of knowledge.

"Reading books not only enriches knowledge but is also a way for me to develop my language, thinking and relieve stress. I have participated in this book festival since high school, in 2015 every time there was a book festival I participated," Bich Khanh said.

Mr. Doan Xuan Nhut - a biology teacher at Ben Tre High School for the Gifted - said that today his school has about 100 students attending this book festival. He often reads specialized books, literature, history...

"Reading books not only helps me open the door to a treasure trove of knowledge, meet my teaching and entertainment needs, but also nourishes my soul and shapes my personality," Mr. Nhut added.

More than 10,000 old books were donated.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duy, at this year's festival, more than 10,000 old books were donated and consigned from local people and from publishers and distributors.

The purpose is to help develop a reading culture for the community, students, and university students of Vinh Long province... connecting young people to do meaningful activities, helping young people cultivate reading culture skills.

The difference of this year's book fair is not only in the number of books or the scale of organization, but also in the community spirit and continuity.

Thousands of old books were donated and consigned by local people - books that were once forgotten now have the opportunity to find new readers. Along with that is the presence of new books, selected from reputable publishers, bringing a diverse and close reading experience for all ages.

This year's book fair has a book street, an open space where books, whether old or new, carry within them journeys of knowledge waiting to be continued.

The talk show series Know - Understand - Feel is an invitation for young people to pause to listen, reflect and dialogue with knowledge.

Through three perspectives from three speakers, attendees will move from knowledge - through historical, educational, and cultural stories told through real experiences; to understanding - in the subtle depth of the Vietnamese language; and to touching feelings - where literature moves into cinema, so that emotions become creative materials.

Each conversation not only stimulates thinking but also hopes that young people will continue their own learning journey after leaving the book fair space.

A special art rendezvous within the framework of the 2025 "Open Dream" book festival is a music night that comes out of the pages of a book. This event brings a stage combining music and drama, where literary stories are retold in contemporary creative language.
