Students of Van Lang University learn news appraisal and photography skills at Tuoi Tre newspaper.

On the afternoon of August 28, at Van Lang University, the signing ceremony of the training cooperation program between Van Lang University and Tuoi Tre Newspaper took place.

Within the framework of the program, in the 2024-2025 academic year, 400 full-time university students majoring in Public Relations, a special program of the Faculty of Public Relations - Communication, Van Lang University will study directly at Tuoi Tre Newspaper. This is also a new media training model in Vietnam. Teaching and learning are carried out in the direction of focusing on practice, approaching reality, creating real media products.

Accordingly, for the first time, Van Lang University students will learn news assessment and photography skills right at the Tuoi Tre Newspaper office and on-site. Students will be equipped with basic knowledge of news and photography, and directly participate in the news production process from receiving, evaluating, processing and publishing news on Tuoi Tre Newspaper.

Reporters, editors, and experienced managers of Tuoi Tre Newspaper directly teach and guide practice. In addition to being provided with basic knowledge of the course and on-site practice guidance, students will be taken to departments with the guidance of reporters and editors, participate in events, and produce real products.

Speaking about this training model, Dr. Vo Van Tuan, Vice Principal of Van Lang University, said that the training model in cooperation with Tuoi Tre newspaper is an important step forward in improving the quality of universityeducation in Vietnam, especially in the field of journalism and communication. In the world, this model has been successfully applied in many developed countries, where universities and leading media agencies cooperate closely to create a cohesive learning and working environment. Students not only learn theory, but also practice on real-life platforms, contributing to the creation of products of practical value.
