Part-time student jobs: Economic benefits come with life experience

The article "Many ways for students to work part-time" published in SGGP Newspaper on July 5th reflected the challenges and pitfalls in the story of part-time jobs for students. In that context, introducing students to individuals and organizations that provide reputable and suitable jobs for young people has become an urgent need.

Flexible work

With the desire to take advantage of the summer to try their hand and find a suitable long-term part-time job, students tend to choose flexible and proactive part-time jobs.

Mr. Xuan Huy, the founder of a non-store, take-away coffee chain called Dzot Le, shared: “I want to bring clean and quality coffee to many people, from janitors to shippers... At the same time, I also hope to create a comfortable, safe, and suitable environment for students and young people to have the opportunity to work and earn extra income.”

With the advantage of low cost, easy to learn and self-implement, young people can learn and implement quickly, while being flexible with time and comfortable working process. Although there are still many difficulties when having to stumble and interact with society, through that, they can learn and gain more life experience. Many members of Dzot Le coffee said that they feel comfortable and happy when working with their brothers in the group.

Tutoring is probably one of the most popular part-time jobs among students. This form is relatively easy and has a high income, but it also requires young people to be meticulous and serious in the teaching process. With the ability to write beautifully, Tuong Vy (student of Hoa Sen University) initially worked at a calligraphy center, then accumulated experience and tutored when some parents of students had a need. Tuong Vy said that with the desire to find an easy job and a good development environment, this is a suitable job for her and her classmates.

Not only calligraphy, tutoring any subject also requires a relatively high level of input, requiring students to have solid knowledge in a certain field. However, the advantage of this job is that young people have the opportunity to work and talk with many people, while reviewing basic skills and knowledge. "Since becoming a tutor, I have had to study by myself to teach the children. Besides, I also constantly research new lessons and textbooks to keep up with the program," Tuong Vy added.

Development opportunities

In addition to part-time jobs at points of sale, or home tutoring and tutoring centers, there are many places suitable for students with special talents such as music , painting..., providing good job opportunities. With many positions from teaching assistants to official teachers, young people with talents or who have studied art subjects in depth can try their hand.

With the desire to build a healthy working environment for young people who love painting, NORI children's drawing class (Binh Tri Dong ward, Ho Chi Minh City) regularly accompanies art students and talented young people to organize many diverse activities for the class, such as: fairs, exhibitions, competitions...

Ms. Phuong Quynh (founder of NORI drawing class) shared: “I want my teachers to not simply teach drawing, but to be the ones to convey the love of art to children. Therefore, I believe that first of all, I need to help students understand the value of what they are doing through useful activities.”

Sharing about her 2-year journey working at NORI, Minh Trang (student of Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts) said: “I came to the class initially to earn extra income, but I received many valuable experiences and lessons. The drawing class is not only an environment for me to exchange expertise with friends and seniors, but also a motivation for me to try harder every day to bring effective and valuable lessons to the children. Thanks to that, I find myself more creative in art.”

In general, society is increasingly developing, thereby bringing many opportunities and diverse choices for students in part-time jobs. This is not only a way to earn extra income, but also brings unique experiences and necessary skills. Even working part-time also helps students find their interests and future orientation.

However, to make part-time work truly effective, young people need to carefully research the workplace, the nature of the work and their own ability to meet it. Above all, each person needs to determine their own priorities to arrange their time effectively, ensuring balance between study and life.
