Ready to organize the first international math competition in Da Nang

*Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communications Technology (VKU) is the venue for most of the exam's main activities.*

The 25th VIMC International Mathematics Competition was held in Da Nang from August 14 to 19 with the participation of 526 contestants, 181 teachers, and 100 international guests from 31 countries and territories.

2025 is the first year that the prestigious International Mathematics Competition - IMC is held in Da Nang city. Therefore, all organizational work is carefully reviewed and prepared by the city, aiming to leave a good impression in the hearts of international friends.

Following the direction of the City People's Committee, in recent days, relevant departments, branches and units have urgently deployed preparation work with specific tasks, readying all conditions to ensure the exam takes place successfully.

Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communications Technology (VKU) is the location where most of the main activities of the exam take place. Therefore, the school has focused human and material resources to build the stage, hang banners, signs, ensure the examination rooms, tables and chairs and related work.

Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho, Vice Principal of VKU, said that to ensure the exam was conducted properly, the school coordinated with the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City and the International Mathematical Committee (IMC) to organize intensive training for the team of invigilators and examiners.

In addition, the school mobilized nearly 100 volunteer students and trained them on the content to be implemented, especially communication skills, foreign languages, and service, to support international delegations from the airport and in all activities of the exam.

*The internet system and information technology infrastructure are checked and upgraded to ensure smooth connection, effectively serving the examination marking and communication work.*

In particular, regarding the preparation of facilities, the school is urgently deploying the staging of the stage, the opening and closing halls with a capacity of about 1,500 people; decorating, preparing sound and lighting properly.

Classrooms and examination rooms are equipped with air conditioning, lighting, and tables and chairs that meet standards. Internet systems and information technology infrastructure are checked and upgraded to ensure smooth connections, effectively serving the organization, grading, and communication work.

The school has also prepared nearly 200 dormitory rooms to serve the living and staying needs of candidates taking the exam this time. In addition, the functional rooms, resting areas, libraries, and canteens are also cleaned and ready to serve candidates, parents, and international judges.
