On June 13, 2025, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the highest recommendation to Vietnamese citizens not to travel to these two countries. Those in Iran and Israel need to have a plan to move and evacuate soon.

Faced with the escalating conflict, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs immediately activated the mechanism of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Steering Committee on Citizen Protection, promptly exchanged with the Ministry of Public Security , the Ministry of National Defense, and our representative agencies in the war zone to assess the situation and develop a protection plan, ensure the safety of citizens, representative agency headquarters, and a plan to evacuate Vietnamese citizens in hot spots back to the country.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son promptly sent a telegram to encourage, visit and direct the Ambassadors, Embassy staff and Vietnamese citizens living and working in Israel and Iran.

As of June 13, 2025, in Iran there are a total of 37 Vietnamese nationals and 4 people of Vietnamese origin ; in Israel there are about more than 700 Vietnamese citizens/people of Vietnamese origin living and working, including members of representative agencies and relatives.

Implementing the evacuation measures approved by the Steering Committee, on June 16, 2025, the Vietnamese Embassy in Iran coordinated with the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia to organize the safe evacuation of 18 citizens from Iran to Azerbaijan, and by June 18, 2025, 16 citizens had returned home.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Iran and its staff in the area remain safe, maintain normal operations, and keep in regular contact with the remaining 11 citizens (mostly those who have settled permanently in Iran).

The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel has opened registration for the Vietnamese community in the country to return home, and is ready with detailed evacuation plans to coordinate with Vietnamese representative agencies in neighboring countries and domestic authorities to deploy as soon as necessary.

In case of emergency, Vietnamese citizens can contact the citizen protection hotlines of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese representative agencies in Israel and Iran:
