Vietnamese OCOP products participate in the International Handicraft Fair in Italy for the first time

NDO - Bringing agricultural products to the world market has always been a priority for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to direct units in the industry to implement. In particular, OCOP products are assessed to have export potential and are gradually approaching the world market.

With the aim of promoting OCOP products, the Central Office for New Rural Area Coordination and the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center organized a booth of Vietnamese OCOP products at the AF-L'Artigiano In Fiera International Handicraft Fair in 2024.

This is one of the key tasks in trade promotion activities under the OCOP Program implementation plan in 2024.

The 2024 AF- L'Artigiano In Fiera International Craft Fair will take place from November 30 to December 8 with a scale of more than 10,000 booths from many countries around the world such as: Europe, Asia, America, Africa...

The fair attracted more than 1 million visitors and shoppers during nearly 10 days of the fair.

The Vietnam OCOP product space has a scale of ^200m2 (including ^100m2 of the Ministry and ^100m2 of the Hanoi People's Committee) with the participation of 20 business units and nearly 100 OCOP products, typical handicraft products with export potential of Vietnam such as: Processed agricultural products (tea, coffee, cashew nuts, macadamia nuts, lotus products, coconut products, processed fruits, ...); embroidery, silk, rattan and bamboo products, interior and exterior decoration, carvings, handbags; gift products ...

The opening ceremony of the space to promote and introduce Vietnamese OCOP products was opened on the afternoon of November 30, 2024 with the participation of Mr. Duong Hai Hung, Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy, representatives of the Central Office for Coordination of New Rural Areas; Leaders of the Center for Agricultural Trade Promotion; Leaders of Milan Handicraft Associations and Director of the AF-L'Artigiano In Fiera International Fair.

The opening ceremony was warm, solemn and imbued with Vietnamese cultural values ​​and images.

This is the first time the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has organized a Vietnamese national space for European OCOP products, built with the theme "Convergence of values ​​- Spreading Culture", combined with product experience and tasting services, along with activities of displaying images and videos promoting OCOP products associated with typical regional culture and typical rural tourism of Vietnam; introducing products, receiving feedback from customers (distribution businesses, consumers, ...).

The goal is to introduce visitors to the typical regional culture of Vietnam through the stories of Vietnam OCOP products.

In addition, supporting businesses, cooperatives and OCOP entities to promote, connect information, exchange experiences to help gradually improve products, promote trade cooperation opportunities in the Italian and European markets.

Vietnamese OCOP products have attracted the attention of many visitors to the Fair, sharing and purchasing products, along with sharing about products and requirements of Italian and European consumers.
