The Director of the Civil Aviation Authority said that, based on the proposal of the Airports Corporation (ACV) and Tho Xuan Airport, the Authority has issued a notice to temporarily suspend receiving flights to Tho Xuan Airport from 6:00 p.m. on June 16 to 6:00 a.m. on June 17.
On the same day, according to information from Tho Xuan Airport, on the evening of June 15, unidentified flying objects continued to appear in the airport area.

The incident forced two Vietjet Air flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Thanh Hoa to change course, landing at Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi) and Vinh Airport (Nghe An) respectively. Due to the complicated developments caused by the continuous appearance of strange objects near the airport area, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has decided to temporarily suspend operations at Tho Xuan Airport to ensure absolute safety for flight operations.
Previously, on June 15, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam announced the implementation of a series of urgent measures to ensure aviation safety after drones appeared in the Tho Xuan Airport area on June 3 and 14, 2025.
