Attending the conference were representatives of departments, provincial and grassroots associations of Quang Nam and the Association of People with Disabilities (PWD) of the three localities of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Da Nang.

This is an activity under the project "Supporting and improving the quality of life of people with disabilities in provinces heavily sprayed with Agent Orange, including 3 localities: Quang Nam, Hue and Quang Tri " funded by the National Action Center for Overcoming the Consequences of Toxic Chemicals and the Environment (NACCET - project owner) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

At the consultation session, many delegates made practical proposals. Specifically, to effectively support PWDs in natural disaster prevention in the coming period, it is necessary to survey and update the database on types of disabilities, access levels, and support needs in the community.
In addition, it is necessary to ensure that PWDs have access to early warning information through multiple channels, while creating conditions for PWDs and their representatives to participate in training in disaster prevention skills...
Regarding infrastructure, when upgrading or constructing new storm and flood shelters, accessibility for people with disabilities must be taken into account, such as ramps, wide walkways, and supportive evacuation vehicles, etc.
According to Ms. Doan Thi Hoai Nhi - Deputy Director of the Department of Health , many opinions at the conference were very specific and practical. Project implementing agencies, departments, and localities need to identify the integration of support for PWDs in disaster prevention plans as an important task.
