The program was organized by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in coordination with the Radio and Television Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guangxi Radio and Television (China) and Hong Kong Radio and Television (China) on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - China diplomatic relations (January 18, 1950 - January 18, 2025) and "Vietnam - China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025".
The program opened with the medley "Tu Quy Medley, Luu Thuy Kim Tien Xuan Phong Long Ho and the work Ly Ngua O Nam". This is a traditional performance, blending the quintessence of folk music from the three regions of North - Central - South of Vietnam.
The program brought special performances, elaborately staged, performed by Vietnamese and Chinese artists. On the Vietnamese side, there was the participation of Meritorious Artist Phan Thu Lan, Meritorious Artist Dang Thuat, singer Ngoc Ha and the New Vitality Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Dong Quang Vinh.

The Chinese side includes prominent singers such as Tran Dat, Nong Trac Phi, Vuong Nhat Phuong and Hong Kong artist Kandy Wong, along with students from the Central Normal University of Arts and Guangxi Academy of Arts.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Ngo Minh Hien, Deputy General Director of Voice of Vietnam, said: This is the second year the program has been organized, aiming to enhance cultural exchange and expand media cooperation between the two sides. Notably, this year's program has the participation of Hong Kong Radio and Television for the first time, showing the expansion in both depth and breadth in the cooperative relationship between Voice of Vietnam and Chinese media partners, opening up many prospects for more exciting exchange activities in the future.
Mr. Hoang Tri Hang, Deputy Director of Guangxi Radio and Television Department, said: "Friendship Song" is one of the typical activities for media cooperation between the two countries, contributing to promoting understanding and trust between the people of the two sides.
“Let us continue to cultivate the close friendship between China and Vietnam, using the media as a connecting thread, using the audio-visual field as a bridge, and together tell beautiful stories about the China-Vietnam friendship. Let the exchanges between the people of the two countries form a great river of friendship, contributing more to enhancing mutual understanding and promoting close cooperation between the two countries,” said Mr. Hoang Tri Hang.
