Phu Quoc has smart electric buses serving tourists for free

On June 29, Mr. Le Viet Bac, Director of the Department of Transport of Kien Giang province, said that the unit had just signed a decision to approve and announce the opening of a public passenger transport route by intra-provincial bus in Phu Quoc city.

Accordingly, the Kien Giang Department of Transport has licensed the operation of two public passenger transport routes by intra-provincial buses in Phu Quoc, including: Bai Truong - Duong Dong route and Ganh Dau - Duong Dong route.

VinBus electric bus stops to pick up passengers on Tran Hung Dao Street, Duong Dong Ward, Phu Quoc City

This is the first smart electric bus route operating in Phu Quoc, operated by Phu Quoc Tourism Investment and Development Joint Stock Company.

The Bai Truong - Duong Dong route (route code 19) travels 12.5 km, through the central roads of Duong Dong Ward such as: Vo Van Kiet - Nguyen Trung Truc - Hung Vuong - 30 Thang 4 - Tran Hung Dao to the central road of Bai Truong. Operating hours are from 5am to 12pm daily. Ticket price is 30,000 VND/passenger/trip. Number of vehicles in operation is 8.

Ganh Dau - Duong Dong route (route code 17) travels a distance of 44 km, from Ganh Dau (T2 Grand World parking lot) - DT. 975B - Cua Can - Vo Van Kiet - Nguyen Trung Truc - Tran Hung Dao - Phu Quoc Highway - Phu Quoc International Airport and vice versa. Operating hours are from 5:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. daily. Ticket price is 60,000 VND/passenger/trip. Number of vehicles is 6.

Each car has a capacity of 28 seats, 100% new car, uses environmentally friendly electric motor, has air conditioning, TV, wifi, supports people with disabilities...

According to the operator, this bus route will help connect famous tourist destinations and hotels in Phu Quoc, providing a seamless experience for visitors day and night; while minimizing travel costs for visitors, contributing to stimulating tourism demand in Phu Quoc.

Currently, VinBus is applying a policy of providing free bus routes in Phu Quoc until the end of 2023.
