At the reception, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc emphasized that Vietnam always attaches importance to strengthening traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Finland, Vietnam's important partner in the EU.

On behalf of the Government and people of Vietnam, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed sincere gratitude to the Government and people of Finland for their valuable support and assistance in Vietnam's socio-economic development and international integration.

The Finnish Minister of Foreign Trade and Development expressed his pleasure at meeting Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc; highly appreciated Vietnam's current economic and social successes and affirmed that Vietnam is Finland's key partner in Southeast Asia.

Sharing his opinion with Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc that there is still much room for economic, trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Finland, the Finnish Minister suggested that the two sides strengthen cooperation in areas where Finland has strengths and Vietnam has needs such as clean water management, communications, shipbuilding, etc.

Finland wishes to further promote cooperation in the energy sector and is ready to support Vietnam in participating in EU projects and preferential credit programs to implement the energy transition process.

The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that he always creates favorable conditions for foreign investors, including those from Finland, to invest in Vietnam, in accordance with legal regulations.

The two sides were pleased to see that the bilateral relationship has developed positively in recent times, with many substantive activities in politics , diplomacy, economics, trade, development cooperation, education and training, etc.

The two sides agreed to continue to increase delegation exchanges, especially at high level, contributing to enhancing political trust, creating momentum to promote cooperation in all fields; coordinate to increase trade exchanges between the two countries and effectively utilize the Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc suggested that Finland urge the remaining EU member states to soon ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and support the European Commission (EC) to soon remove the IUU "yellow card" for Vietnamese seafood exports.

The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that he always creates favorable conditions for foreign investors, including those from Finland, to invest in Vietnam, in accordance with legal regulations.

Emphasizing the importance of enhancing regional and multilateral cooperation, the two leaders agreed that the two countries will continue to coordinate and support each other at regional and global multilateral forums./.
