Hanoi Old Quarter crowded with people on Mid-Autumn Festival night

On the evening of September 17, Hang Ma Street and neighboring streets in Hanoi were crowded with people and tourists flocking to enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival.

This is the most crowded entertainment spot in the capital every year during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Hang Luoc, Hang Ma, and Hang Can streets are always in a state of traffic jam a week before this day.

Stalls selling traditional toys and new items attract crowds of customers to come and see and buy.

Small, colorful animal-shaped toys suitable for children are sold for 40,000 - 80,000 VND each.

Many couples take the opportunity to go out and enjoy the atmosphere of the full moon festival that only happens once a year.

Ms. Thao's family (in Ha Dong district) brought their young child to join the crowd on the old street. "This Mid-Autumn Festival is more special because my family has a new member. The feeling when going to the street to welcome the full moon is also very different," Ms. Thao confided.

At a booth with decorations for visitors to take photos, Thien and Minh were dressed in Cuoi costumes by their parents. "This is the first Mid-Autumn Festival I have brought my two children to the old town. Although it was crowded, the children were still very excited and did not feel tired at all," their parents shared.

At 9 pm, a group of young people performed a lion dance on the street for several hours, attracting the attention of many people.

The later it gets, the more people flock to the Mid-Autumn Festival market in the old quarter.

Many groups of young people and families come here to immerse themselves in the Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere instead of buying toys or gifts.

A person carrying a bicycle on the street must carry it above his head to get through crowded areas.

The motorbike parking lots are packed, the price for each motorbike here is up to 30,000 VND.

Although they know they will have to face the jostling and crowding every holiday like this, many families still accept the "hardship" to let their children learn more about the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival of the Vietnamese people.
