(DN)- On June 27, the Provincial People's Committee organized a workshop on Free Trade Zones in Dong Nai "Growth dynamics in the new era - Taking off with Long Thanh airport".
Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha chaired the workshop. Also attending the workshop were Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee Huynh Thanh Binh; leaders of departments, branches, sectors, experts, scientists inside and outside the province.

In his opening speech, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha said that the Provincial Party Committee has directed the Provincial People's Committee to study and develop a project for a free trade zone in Dong Nai province associated with Long Thanh International Airport and Phuoc An Port with a scale of about 8.2 thousand hectares. Dong Nai free trade zone is expected to be established with 4 functional sub-zones, including: High-tech industrial production functional zone; Logistics functional zone; Financial and commercial services functional zone; Innovation functional zone.
With 8 policy groups and 29 specific mechanisms, it promises to turn Dong Nai Free Trade Zone into a center of high-tech industries, financial services, logistics, innovation and international trade.

At the workshop, representatives of the Department of Finance presented a summary report on the Draft Free Trade Zone Project. In addition, experts, scientists, and businesses focused on discussing and contributing practical ideas on the Project. This is important information and documents to help Dong Nai province complete the Free Trade Zone Project.
In his concluding remarks at the workshop, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha requested the Department of Finance to promptly absorb all the opinions of the delegates to complete the Free Trade Zone Project. At the same time, he should preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and People's Committees of localities in the process of developing and approving the project to decide on the establishment of the Dong Nai Free Trade Zone.
For relevant departments, branches and localities, it is necessary to coordinate in performing state management functions in assigned fields, ensuring that implementation activities related to Dong Nai Free Trade Zone are consistent with the general development planning and plans and current regulations.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee also announced the decision on the establishment of the Socio-Economic Advisory Group of Dong Nai province.
The Socio-Economic Advisory Group of Dong Nai province is responsible for advising the Provincial People's Committee and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on strategies, plans, projects, and policies for medium- and long-term economic development, and annual socio-economic development plans.
