This year’s Independence Day has a special meaning not only because it marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country, but also because the whole country has just completed a major task, which is the revolution of “rearranging the country”, ready to bring Vietnam into an era of growth and prosperity. Therefore, the people’s feelings about this year’s Independence Day are also very special, proud of a mark of the country’s development.
Full of flying flags
Multiplying the joy in the great festival celebrating the 80th anniversary of Independence Day, for Dong Nai, the autumn of independence flourishes with the continuous socio -economic development of a key economic province in the South, which is facing the opportunity to "take off" in the new era of the nation. Dong Nai province currently has the 9th largest area, the 5th largest population and the 4th largest economy in the country, and people's lives are improving day by day. With a solid socio-economic foundation, national defense and security, and a cultural life imbued with identity, Dong Nai people are joining forces to realize future development goals.

Ms. Thach Thi My Phuoc, Head of the Women's Association of Phuoc Hoa Quarter, Binh Phuoc Ward, and also a prestigious person among the local ethnic minorities, said: From the days of the Party Congress of the ward to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the streets of Binh Phuoc were decorated with colorful flags and flowers. The agencies, units of the ward and the people organized cleaning, decorating and beautifying the campus, roads, houses, etc. to bustlingly welcome the great national holiday. Walking around the streets in the early morning or late afternoon, there were also folk dance groups to revolutionary songs, making the atmosphere more joyful and exciting, and national pride spread everywhere.
“I am 47 years old this year, just over half way through the 80 years of the country’s founding. However, I clearly feel the remarkable changes and development of my homeland and country. From my family, to the increasingly developed ethnic minority areas and localities, the lives and knowledge of the people are improving day by day...” - Ms. Phuoc shared.
In Tran Bien ward - a super ward of Dong Nai province, these days, the streets seem to be "putting on" a new coat. Around the main roads, central areas, major intersections: Vuon Mit area, roundabout of Hung Dao Vuong street in front of Bien Hung park, Song Pho roundabout, Vung Tau intersection... are decorated with billboards, posters, propaganda about the 80th anniversary of August Revolution and National Day September 2 with colorful flags and flowers. The alleys in residential areas are also solemnly and uniformly hung with national flags and Party flags by the people, not only showing the people's compliance with regulations, but also expressing solidarity and national pride.
Businesses and service establishments such as coffee shops, restaurants, etc. also "follow the trend" to celebrate the great festival by decorating their establishments in an eye-catching and impressive way, creating a check-in space for guests with the theme of National Day September 2. In particular, the Sonadezi building (in the area of Vung Tau intersection) applies modern lighting technology to project images of President Ho Chi Minh reading the Declaration of Independence, images of the Party flag, the national flag, fireworks, etc. on an entire wall of the building at night. From luxurious and spacious restaurants and coffee shops to "carts" selling take-away coffee along the road, there are small corners decorated with the national flag, familiar and sacred slogans: "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom"... All have created spaces imbued with Vietnamese character, conveying national pride and the value of independence and peace today to all classes of people, especially the youth.
In many agencies, businesses, and schools, in addition to decorating the campus with colorful flags and flowers, they also organize flag-raising ceremonies to celebrate Independence Day, combining the formation of the national flag and map of Vietnam, organizing competitions, performing scenes, and dramatizing the Independence Day event on September 2, 1945... to spread the spirit of patriotism and national pride. |
Join in the great joy of the nation
Although unable to be present in Hanoi during the great holidays, these days, Dong Nai people always turn to the historic Ba Dinh Square - where the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day 2-9 took place - with patriotism, pride, self-respect, and the spirit of national solidarity. For the new Dong Nai province, after merging Dong Nai (old) and Binh Phuoc (old) provinces, the province has a larger space, a larger scale of development, and a vision and aspiration to be raised to new heights. The atmosphere of the national festival is therefore much more bustling, from the bustling urban areas and industrial parks in Tran Bien, Nhon Trach, to the bustling construction atmosphere at the Long Thanh International Airport Project, or the joy of the farmers' harvest season next to the fruit-laden orchards in Bu Dang, Long Khanh, to the bustling singing in the ethnic villages of Ta Lai, Bom Bo...
Towards the grand ceremony, many agencies and units in Dong Nai have organized meaningful activities, attracting a large number of people to participate. Typically, on the morning of August 24, at Duong Tu Giang Park, the red color was filled with more than 1,000 people in ao dai with red flag and yellow star from 37 gymnastic clubs of Dong Nai Province Gymnastic Federation participating in the art formation performance to celebrate National Day September 2.
Dong Nai youth celebrate Independence Day in their own unique and meaningful ways. Many people choose to go to the cinema to enjoy films or watch music videos about revolutionary wars to better understand and appreciate the value of peace. Young people also go to cafes and restaurants to take photos with the red national flag and post them on social networks to spread the message to everyone. As for Mr. Nguyen Ba Toan (living in Bien Hoa ward), this holiday, he has many days off from work so he will spend more time with his family, and he is also eager to watch the live broadcast of the parade from Hanoi.
"In my opinion, pride and patriotism are expressed through even the smallest actions, carrying the desire to contribute to building the homeland and country of each citizen," Toan shared.
