The Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Agricultural Park has just held a ceremony to announce and launch the Innovation and Startup Competition in the field of high-tech agriculture in 2025.
With the theme “Digital transformation in sustainable agricultural development”, the competition focuses on the application of digital technology in agricultural management and production, contributing to promoting green, smart and sustainable agriculture.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Pham Dinh Dung, Head of the Management Board of the High-Tech Agricultural Zone and Head of the Organizing Committee of the competition, said that in the context of the economy entering a period of strong digital transformation, the agricultural sector - one of the important pillars of the country - is also facing an urgent need to innovate to adapt, develop sustainably and increase value. Innovative startups in the field of high-tech agriculture are a promising direction to promote this process.
“Not just a playground for ideas, the competition is built as part of the long-term action plan of the agricultural sector, aiming to create a foundation for a generation of entrepreneurs to develop a dynamic, creative and technology-driven agricultural sector. In particular, the role of startups and innovation is an important link in forming high-tech agricultural value chains, associated with green economy, circular economy, and digital transformation in agriculture,” emphasized Dr. Pham Dinh Dung.
This year’s competition is expanding nationwide, creating opportunities for many talents across the country to access start-up and development opportunities in the field of high-tech agriculture. Thereby, searching, selecting, honoring, and incubating potential innovative start-up ideas and projects in the field of high-tech agriculture, contributing to the goal of “Building Ho Chi Minh City – a start-up city for young people”.
The contest is open to start-ups, young people, students, lecturers from universities, colleges, research units, organizations and individuals nationwide who are interested in and have ideas and technologies suitable for the field of high-tech agriculture.
A variety of fields can participate in the competition such as management, production, processing, preservation in the field of high-tech agriculture; application of information technology, IoT, big data, blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), automation, robots, drones... in management, production, processing, post-harvest preservation, and traceability of products in the field of high-tech agriculture.
The contest prioritizes startup ideas and projects that already have specific products; encourages projects that use advanced technology, new technology applied in Vietnam or improved, innovative technology suitable to Vietnam's conditions.

Applications should be sent directly by post to the address: High-tech Agricultural Business Incubation Center (255 Tran Hung Dao Street, Co Giang Ward, District 1, HCMC) or email: [email protected]. Applications will be accepted from May to July 2025.
The competition consists of 3 rounds: Preliminary round - Semi-final round - Final round. Ideas and projects that pass the preliminary round will participate in an intensive training course on the following topics: startup skills, business planning, intellectual property, investment calling skills, presentation skills, etc. After the competition ends, potential projects will be selected to be included in the pre-incubation, incubation and acceleration support plan in 2026.
