The case of thugs attacking teacher Nguyen Dinh Thieu, Vice Principal of Ham Tan High School ( Binh Thuan ), just because this teacher and his colleagues invited students to the student management office to educate them about interacting with social media accounts, linking images of teachers and students to uncultured and distorted issues, has left negative public opinion in the locality in the past few days.
On the morning of October 19, Secretary of Ham Tan District Party Committee Nguyen Tan Le and the District Police Chief visited Ham Tan High School and worked with the school's board of directors.
The Secretary of the Ham Tan District Party Committee encouraged the teachers and shared with the school their thoughts and concerns after the incident in which Mr. Thieu was attacked by thugs while handling the work of educating students within the school. The Secretary of the District Party Committee also said that he had directed the Ham Tan District Police to urgently investigate and strictly handle the thugs who attacked Mr. Thieu in accordance with the law, contributing to maintaining political security and social safety, including the educational environment in the locality.
Measures must be taken to ensure safety for theeducational environment in Binh Thuan.
On October 18, Ham Tan High School also sent a document to Ham Tan District Police and Tan Nghia Town Police (Ham Tan District), requesting to strengthen measures to ensure security, order and safety in the area around the school. At the same time, the school requested the police to strengthen measures to ensure the safety of teachers and students, especially the residence of teachers in the school's board of directors.
Along with that, Ham Tan District People's Committee also sent a document to Ham Tan High School, requesting the school to do a good job of propagating to teachers and students about the importance, as well as the responsibility in security, order and social safety to serve the teaching and learning environment.
At the same time, regularly update and exchange information on security and order at schools so that the District People's Committee knows and gives timely direction.
Regarding the health information of teacher Nguyen Dinh Thieu, according to the family, this morning the doctors performed surgery to create a (broken) nose bridge for the patient.
Defendant Luong Dinh Luan was identified as the person who assaulted teacher Thieu and was prosecuted and detained.
As Thanh Nien reported, on October 14, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc An, a parent whose child is in class 11A2 at Ham Tan High School, and some strangers thought that the school's invitation to his child to the student affairs office for "interrogation" was wrong, so they went to Mr. Thieu's house to cause trouble.
As a result, Mr. Thieu was attacked by Luong Dinh Luan (who has been prosecuted and temporarily detained), who was riding in the same car with Mr. An, causing Mr. Thieu to become unconscious, have a broken nose, and a bruised eye, with forensic evidence determining that the injury was from 13% to 16% of his body. The incident in which Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thieu was seriously injured by thugs is a serious, rare incident that has never happened before in the local education sector of Binh Thuan province.
Previously, Vice Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh and Director of Binh Thuan Department of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Toan Thang both sent official dispatches requesting the police to investigate, clarify, and strictly handle the perpetrator who assaulted teacher Nguyen Dinh Thieu.
"At this time, the teaching staff is more or less psychologically affected after the incident of Mr. Thieu being attacked. The vice principal, just because he was handling normal work, invited students to come up to educate with the homeroom teacher, but was beaten like that, so we, the direct teachers, cannot avoid confusion and anxiety when applying measures to educate students. We request that all levels take measures not only to ensure security and order for teachers, but also to strictly handle hooliganism, which has seriously affected the image of teachers" - a teacher in Ham Tan worriedly shared.
