Does white urine dilute sperm?

VnExpressVnExpress22/09/2023

Many people say that cloudy urine is a sign of diluted sperm, causing decreased sexual function and impotence. Is this true? (Dung, 21 years old, Hanoi ).

Reply:

Urine is a part of the body's excretion, so changes in urine color can reflect health conditions. For example, dark yellow urine is caused by drinking less water than needed or some liver and gallbladder problems. Drinking too much water causes clear urine.

Cloudy white urine is often seen in urinary tract infections, stones, retrograde ejaculation. Orange urine can appear when taking certain antibiotics or chemotherapy drugs for cancer. Pinkish red urine appears in cancer, hemolysis, urinary stones, severe urinary infections.

However, it is impossible to assess whether sperm is thin or weak just by urine color. For an accurate diagnosis, you need to go to the hospital for a specialized test.

However, men should actively participate in collective activities, do not abuse alcohol, tobacco and other stimulants that cause erectile dysfunction, reduce sperm production. When there are abnormal signs, men should go to the doctor for early treatment, to avoid complications affecting reproductive function and health later.
