Ms. Lee always attracts attention every time she appears, because of her youthful appearance and abundant energy. Many people cannot believe that she is 93 years old.

In response to the great attention that the media and the public have given her, Ms. Lee recently accepted an interview to share her secret to staying young. She said that she only does very normal things such as drinking enough water every day and not using stimulants, including coffee. In addition, Ms. Lee always uses a humidifier in her office and living space.
To stay awake at work, she often drinks tea. "I especially do not drink alcohol or smoke, always maintain a moderate lifestyle, and always take care of my skin according to the instructions of dermatologists," the female principal said. In addition, she also always avoids letting herself fall into a state of stress.
Her youthful appearance and positive energy make Lee Gil-ya an inspirational role model for many young Koreans.
As a child, Ms. Lee dreamed of becoming a doctor. She graduated from Seoul National University School of Medicine. She then studied abroad in Japan and the United States.
In 1958, she returned to Korea and opened her own clinic. Known as one of the first female doctors in Korea, Ms. Lee is also famous for treating patients with rare devotion and love.
In winter, she always warms up the stethoscope before using it during an examination, to help patients avoid being startled by the cold metal device touching their body.

In 1978, she established a private hospital and then opened Gachon Medical School. She later merged several schools to form Gachon University as it is today. She has served as the university's president since 2012.
Ms. Lee is very active in charity activities. She has organized free heart surgeries for nearly 500 children with congenital heart disease and conducted cervical cancer screening for many women in difficult circumstances.
Ms. Lee never married or had children. She said she always considered the patients and students she came into contact with during her work as her family.
