To truly transform, Sydney underwent intense training, gaining 13 kg of muscle and completely transforming her body. "I became incredibly strong," she shared on Entertainment Tonight .

Having had a martial arts background since childhood, Sydney confided: “I practiced wrestling and kickboxing from the age of 12 to 19. I was eager to get back in the ring and challenge my body."

The actress said she felt compelled to tell the story of Christy Martin, a pioneering female boxing icon who was the first person to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1996.

Christy’s story is not just about sports , but also about survival. Martin was stabbed and nearly shot by her husband and coach, Jim Martin, in 2010. She miraculously survived and has gone on to become a symbol of strength, overcoming violence, abuse and the darkness of her past.

Sydney Sweeney expressed her emotion: “Christy's journey is a testament to strength, resilience and hope. I am honored to step into her role." The film promises to be a huge explosion both artistically and emotionally in 2025.
