Thanh Nha returns to Vietnam women's team
The Vietnamese women's team will gather tomorrow (July 13) after a week of rest, to continue training in preparation for the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship (AFF Cup 2025), taking place in Vietnam in early August.
In the list of players summoned by coach Mai Duc Chung, it is worth noting the return of midfielder Nguyen Thi Thanh Nha. The winger born in 2001 was absent from the training trip to Japan in June and the 2026 Asian Cup qualifiers due to not having recovered from an injury.
Thanh Nha has been practicing rehabilitation in the past time to regain her ball feeling. After 3 months of effort, the 24-year-old player will return to the Vietnam women's team to continue competing for a position.

In addition, young center-back Le Thi Bao Tram (born in 2004) was also called up to the Vietnam women's national team for the first time. Bao Tram will wear the captain's armband for the Vietnam U.20 women's team under coach Akira Ijiri in the 2023-2024 period. She is one of the most potential center-backs in youth football, thanks to her ability to read situations and make good judgments.
Bao Tram joined Luong Thi Thu Thuong and Le Thi Diem My to form a solid defense, helping the Vietnam Coal and Minerals women's team win the 2024 National Cup.
Bao Tram, along with Ngoc Minh Chuyen (both born in 2004) and Tran Thi Thu Xuan (2002), are the rare young faces present in this Vietnam women's team training session. The main roles are still played by seniors such as Pham Hai Yen, Huynh Nhu, Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, Tran Thi Kim Thanh, Chuong Thi Kieu...
Ready for AFF Cup 2025
In the coaching staff, head coach Mai Duc Chung continues to have important support from fitness coach Brandi Jose Regato Neto, along with experienced assistants Doan Minh Hai, Doan Thi Kim Chi, Nguyen Thi Kim Hong, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh and doctors.
According to the plan, the team members will check in and settle down at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center on the morning of July 13, and will have their first practice session on the field in the afternoon of the same day.
The national women's team will stay here for a week before moving to Quang Ninh for a 10-day training session. It is expected that on July 30, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will arrive in Hai Phong to complete the final preparations before participating in the AFF Cup 2025, which will take place from August 6 to August 19.
As the host of Group A, Huynh Nhu and her teammates will meet opponents Cambodia, Indonesia and Thailand on August 6, August 9 and August 12 at Lach Tray Stadium (Hai Phong).
After winning tickets to the 2026 Asian Cup, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team continue to aim to compete for the highest position in this year's Southeast Asian women's football championship.
