The basic exam content closely follows the 2018 General Education Program

On June 5 and 6, more than 21,000 junior high school students in the province took the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year. This year's exam was held to enroll 53 public high schools across the province.

On June 5, candidates took the Literature exam (morning) with a duration of 120 minutes and the Foreign Language exam (afternoon) with a duration of 60 minutes. This morning (June 6), candidates took the Math exam in essay format (120 minutes), starting at 7:30. On the afternoon of June 6, candidates took the specialized exam with a duration of 150 minutes, starting at 2:00 p.m. at the Examination Council of Nguyen Du High School for the Gifted.

According to the Departmentof Education and Training, the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year is an important exam of the province to meet the learning needs of students, contributing to improving the quality of education in general schools; implementing student streaming after graduating from secondary school. In order for the exam to take place safely, seriously, honestly, objectively, fairly, and in accordance with regulations, the education sector has coordinated with sectors and localities to guide affiliated educational institutions to develop and implement a review plan for 9th grade students, with timely support solutions to help them have full knowledge and skills to participate in the exam; ensure security, safety and create convenience for candidates and their families so that candidates can take the exam with confidence and comfort...

The 2024-2025 school year will cover the 2018 General Education Program at all levels. Therefore, the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year will have a new structure and content.

On the first day of the exam, according to the candidates' assessment, this year's exam was within their ability, most of them were able to do the test, so they were very excited. H'Ruli Eban (Exam Council of N'Trang Long Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities, Buon Ma Thuot City) assessed that the reading comprehension material for the Literature subject was outside the textbook, but if you read it carefully, you can do the test and get the maximum score. The discussion section "discussing how to cultivate gratitude in life" is an interesting topic, close to students, so you only need to use specific examples in daily life as a catalyst to write an emotional essay.

Foreign language is the only multiple choice test in the exam. Pham Tran Thanh Giang (taking the test at the Examination Council of Le Quy Don High School, Buon Ma Thuot City) shared that the English subject (40 questions) was quite easy because at the secondary school level, students had been thoroughly reviewed by teachers, in which the punched-out questions were predicted to be the most difficult but in reality were easier than the rest. The test was also easier than the mock tests organized by the school and the city before, so the students were all very happy to have done the test. Giang estimated that she would get about 8 points.

Student Nguyen Thanh Long (Examination Council of Phan Chu Trinh High School, Ea H'leo District) was more careful in reading the questions and doing the test. Thanh Long shared that the English exam closely followed the school's review structure, focusing on the 9th grade program. The multiple choice part was quite easy, but there were many questions that if not read carefully, could easily be confused, leading to mistakes in the test-taking process. After finishing the two exams today, he felt less pressured, more relaxed, and was now ready to take the final exam (Math).

According to teachers' assessment, the content of the exam subjects on the first day basically followed the 2018 General Education Program, with materials outside the textbooks but with questions of different levels of difficulty, so most candidates were able to do the test.

Ms. Dang Thi Be, a teacher at Phan Boi Chau Secondary School (Ea H'leo District), commented that the Literature exam was close to the structure of the sample exam that the Department of Education and Training had previously instructed. During the learning process, teachers introduced and exposed students to many of these topics (love, gratitude) as well as current issues of interest, so students would get relatively high scores. However, to achieve maximum scores in the writing section, in addition to test-taking skills, students must also have social knowledge, know how to outline and balance their test-taking time.
