The Open Championship is one of the four major tournaments (equivalent to the Grand Slam tournaments in tennis) of the world golf community every year.

Because of the importance of this tournament, most of the best golfers in the world today are present at The Open Championship 2025.
The name that will attract the most attention is certainly world number one, Paris 2024 Olympic champion Scottie Scheffler (USA). Next up are world number two Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Xander Schauffele (USA).

The tournament also features former world number one Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas (both Americans), former world number two Viktor Hovland (Norway) and Collin Morikawa (USA), two-time Olympic bronze medalist Hideki Matsuyama (Japan), 2025 US Open champion (most recent major) JJ Spaun (USA)...
In addition, some famous golfers have switched to compete in the LIV Golf system (founded and operated by Saudi Arabian billionaires, in contrast to the PGA Tour and DP World Tour systems) such as Brooks Koepka (USA), Jon Rahm (Spain), or Phil Mickelson (USA) have also been invited to participate.
All three golfers were once ranked number one in the world. The Open Championship takes place from July 18 to the early morning of July 21 (Vietnam time), at the Dunluce Course (Northern Ireland). This is also the only major tournament held outside the United States.
