State Bank of Vietnam Region 2 ensures smooth payment operations during National Day September 2

On September 1, Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh, Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Region 2, said that in order to ensure stable and smooth payment activities during the National Day holiday, especially to perform well the payment tasks for policy beneficiaries according to Decree 178 and the Government 's Independence Day gifts for the people as well as to implement the direction of the SBV, SBV Region 2 has directed credit institutions (CIs) to perform well the payment tasks in the entire banking system in the Southeast region.

Specifically, ensure smooth operation of the interbank electronic payment system, implement the on-call regime and maintain payment accounting work; treasury work at satellites of the State Bank of Vietnam Region 2, during holidays, ensure payment of expenses according to regulations, meet the requirements and directions of the Government and the State Bank.

Credit institutions in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province must ensure the smooth operation of the ATM system; the effective operation of electronic banking services, online payments and especially maintain a 24/7 customer care and on-call regime to ensure consultation, guidance for customers and people and timely handling of arising incidents (if any). At the same time, ensure the security and safety of headquarters and banking operations during the holiday.

"In addition, credit institutions, especially the Agribank system with branches and transaction offices in communes in Dong Nai province, proactively perform well banking services during the holiday. In particular, using a combination of all payment methods and coordinating with the State Treasury to promptly meet the cash needs of local authorities, especially in mountainous, rural and remote areas of the province, in order to promptly pay the Government's Independence Day gifts to people on time for the holiday," said Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh.

On the part of commercial banks, Agribank also said it has issued urgent instructions within the system to implement tasks to ensure timely gift giving to people on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

Accordingly, Agribank has arranged staff to work during the holiday for 4 days (from August 30, 2025 to September 2, 2025) to carry out payment transactions as required by the State Treasury, as well as ensure a safe and smooth payment system throughout the holiday.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh, on August 30, 2025, at the State Bank of Vietnam Region 2, Dong Nai province, 30 billion VND in cash (denominations of 100,000 VND) was disbursed to Agribank branches in the area to pay and give Government gifts to people to ensure that people receive Government gifts at the right time and meaningfully on the occasion of Independence Day.
